Hello everyone, I am Duan Yan, a history buff. Today I want to share - Ji Zhongkang.

Who's Who – Ji Zhongkang

Zhongkang, also known as Zhonglu, surnamed Ji, was the son of Qi, the younger brother of Taikang, and the fourth monarch of the Xia Dynasty. After HouYi deposed Taikang, he established himself as king. However, under the pressure of the princes, he had to cede the throne to the descendants of the Xia royal family and establish Zhongkang as king. After Zhongkang succeeded to the throne, he immediately sent people to Yangxia (present-day Taikang County, Zhoukou District, Henan) to welcome Emperor Taikang back to China, and claimed to be willing to return the throne to Taikang. Tai Kang believed that this was an insult to him by his younger brother Zhongkang and resolutely refused to return to China. Zhongkang was very happy, because he did not want Taikang to return in his heart, and Taikang's lack of return just fulfilled his wish, so he sent an army to escort Taikang's concubines and children to Yangxia to reunite with him.

Zhongkang nominally reigned for 30 years, but in fact remained under the dictatorship of Houyi. Unwilling to be a puppet, Zhongkang was bent on regaining power, and sent Sima Yinhou to conquer Houyi's henchmen Xi and Ershi in an attempt to weaken Houyi's power. In the end, due to his weak strength, he was put under house arrest by Houyi and was unable to restore Xia's world. Zhongkang died of depression and illness. Buried near Anyi. Historia. Xia Benji records that "during the time of Emperor Zhongkang, Xi he was promiscuous, and the time was chaotic", although there was no word "eclipse", this record has long been proved to be a record of a solar eclipse, and it is the earliest record in China, known as the "Book Eclipse", "Zhongkang Eclipse", which may occur on October 26, 1961 BC, according to modern astronomical methods, that eclipse occurred at noon, and the total eclipse belt happened to pass through the Central Plains. Strange knowledge is not added again.
