Movie Saint Vincent – May we all be ordinary luminaries

author:Sweet little train

Today, the little train got up early in the morning to see a movie called "Saint Vincent", which tells the warm story of a sad old man who takes care of his amnesiac lover and has a messy life, after meeting a new neighbor boy. This movie is a treasure to me, especially the last paragraph, and I am sure you will enjoy it too.

The little boy came to this place with his mother, who divorced her husband, and her mother, who had no time to look after the little boy to earn money, took the little boy to the care of the scruffy and grumpy Vincent. Take the little boy to the horse betting, to the bar, to teach the little boy to fight. The stubborn old man who seems to have a bad child becomes cheerful and responsible in his daily life. Vincent suffered a stroke and was rescued by a little boy, went bankrupt, his wife died, and Vincent's world seemed to be all over...

The synopsis of the little train is written very much like a shroud, but from the movie, there are many intriguing places worth exploring.

There is a line from Oliver's teacher in the movie, "A saint is a person who sacrifices and dedicates himself to others." But the little boy's choice of Vincent as the saint in his heart completely subverted this sublime concept, making the "saint" commonplace and cute. A person with flaws is more likely to capture people's hearts than a perfect person. Following a "bad guy" by worldly standards, the child Oliver learns the best things about him.

If you swing your fist at a life without answers, it may just be in vain. But we still haven't given up on wanting to swing our fists, at least in the eyes of others, there may be a hint of handsomeness. Falling down is not a victory, but it is still convinced that there are always some unknown pains that will come out of the heart without any outlet to applaud. Endure the dust and also give the family pet cat regularly to open the can. That's what I learned from the movies.

The words of the little boy at the end of the movie are particularly touching, and I want to share them with you:

The little boy standing on the stage:

In 1965, as a member of the U.S. Army's Fifth Regiment, in the war, he heroically rescued two wounded officers who were pinned down by enemy fire and fled with them. For his bravery, he received the Bronze Star Medal. I think the best way to get to know Mr. Vincent is to tell you what he did for me.

When my mother and I first moved here, we didn't know each other. And Mr. Vincent accepted me, but he didn't need to, and didn't want to. But he did it anyway, because that's what the saints were. We went to see his wife, Sandy, who had been married for 40 years and had recently passed away. Vincent had done her laundry every week for the past eight years, and she had long since lost her knowledge of him. Because the saint never gives up.

He taught me to fight, to stand firm, how to be brave. How to express, how to be bold. Because saints will fight others for their own sake. Then someone will hear their voice.

He taught me how to gamble, how to race horses, games and double-barrel shotguns. And because of this I would have been grounded until I was eighteen. But in the process, I learned how to take risks and make desperate bets. Because in life, the odds will be against you.

This is Mr. Vincent's cat, Felix. Mr. Vincent eats sardines and Felix eats delicious cat food because the saints make sacrifices.

Yes, Mr. Vincent also has flaws. Serious shortcomings, like other saints we see. Because after all, saints are also people, ordinary people.

Courage, sacrifice, compassion, humanity. These are the signs of the saints, and Mr. Vincent, like other saints, is not much different. Therefore, I would like to invite out my friend and my nanny, Mr. Vincent.

At the end of the film, Vincent sits around the table with the little boy's family and the prostitute who has given birth to a child. Everything returned to normal, and the saint continued to do the saint's things.

We have no way of knowing that in some gray-headed moment, we will get to know some of the saints in our lives. They may be very ordinary and even a little annoying, but when they turn their heads, they find that, ah, he has always been here.

And those who are willing to share will eventually get the best ending.
