MediaTek releases Wi-Fi 7 technology: Too fast could end the era of wired networks

MediaTek demonstrated the world's first Wi-Fi 7 technology on the 19th, and everyone felt the ultra-high speed and ultra-low latency of Wi-Fi 7.

According to Alan Hsu, general manager of MediaTek's intelligent connectivity business and vice president of enterprise, the introduction of Wi-Fi 7 will allow Wi-Fi to replace wired/Ethernet for the first time in high-bandwidth applications.

MediaTek releases Wi-Fi 7 technology: Too fast could end the era of wired networks

According to MediaTek, Wi-Fi 7 uses 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz as the main frequency band, and achieves a transmission speed of 2.4 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 by introducing 320MHz bandwidth and 4K QAM modulation technology, and the peak speed can reach about 30Gbps.

The technology is expected to hit the market in 2023.
