"The quality of the New Year paintings has a lot to do with the engraving process." Kang Yingqin told reporters that in Wuqiang, the engraved wood is made of a kind of du wood or pear wood grown locally, which has the characteristics of flat board surface, hard plate, flexible and moderate, and wear resistance, which is easy to carve. The engraving requires "the blade has eyes and the knuckles are well-informed." In addition, chromatic brush printing should also be completed by several processes such as paper cutting, counter-printing, brush printing, etc., and then print chromatic plates in order from light to dark. Finally, the printed New Year paintings are hung in batches to dry and then framed.

It turns out that the formation of a New Year painting has to go through so many processes!

In fact, in addition to current affairs themes such as reflecting the Winter Olympics, Wu Qiangnian paintings also have a large number of folk themes.
