Bogong tree is called "sacred tree" by villagers in western Fujian, the tree god in the minds of villagers, villagers recognize trees as parents, give children the name of trees, western Fujian folk customs, passed down from generation to generation, Bogong tree no one dares to cut down, fallen branches no one dares to pick up and go home to cook.
It may be purely coincidental that some people have cut down the broken children and grandchildren of the Bogong tree, the hands and feet of the branches of the Bigong tree have been split, and the stomachache of picking up the branches and going home to cook may be purely coincidental, but these spells are popular and have a long time, and the divine law of the Bogong tree is in the mantras passed down by people.

In January 2021, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the Opinions on the Comprehensive Implementation of the Forest Chief System, issuing a notice requiring all regions and departments to conscientiously implement it in light of reality.
The "Opinions on the Comprehensive Implementation of the Forest Chief System" proposes to ensure that the forest chief system is fully established by June 2022.
At the beginning of the year, all parts of the country were arranging the work of the forest chief system, the implementation rules were formulated, the organizational structure was set up, and the work of the forest chief system was carried out in full swing.

It is reported that more than 1,900 forest chiefs at all levels have been formed, and a large force for protecting forests and rejuvenating greenery has been established.
The forest chief system refers to the construction of a five-level forest chief system in provinces, cities, counties and rural areas in accordance with the principle of "hierarchical responsibility", and the forest chiefs at all levels are responsible for supervising and guiding the protection and development of forest resources in their respective areas of responsibility, coordinating the solution of major problems in the protection and development of forest resources, and investigating and punishing all kinds of illegal and criminal acts that destroy forest resources in accordance with the law.
The supervision and assessment of the forest chief system is included in the scope of comprehensive supervision and inspection of forestry and grassland, and the forest chief at the county level and above is responsible for organizing the assessment of the forest chief at the next level, and the assessment results are used as an important basis for the comprehensive assessment and evaluation of relevant local party and government leading cadres and the audit of the departure of natural resource assets. Implement a lifelong accountability system for party and government leading cadres for damage to the ecological environment, and pursue responsibility in strict accordance with relevant provisions for those who cause serious damage to forest and grassland resources.
In accordance with the requirements of the governance of the landscape, forest, field, lake and grass system, comprehensively implement the forest chief system throughout the country, clarify the responsibility of local party and government leading cadres to protect and develop forest and grassland resources, build a long-term mechanism of party and government responsibility, territorial responsibility, departmental coordination, source governance, and global coverage, and accelerate the construction of ecological civilization and beautiful China.
The "Opinions" proposes that each province (autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government) shall set up a chief forester, who shall be the principal responsible comrade of the provincial party committee or government; the deputy chief forester shall be appointed by the responsible comrade at the provincial level, and the sub-district (piece) shall be responsible. Each province (autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government) may, on the basis of actual conditions, establish forest chiefs at the municipal, county, township and other levels.

The goal of the implementation of the forest chief system is: "the mountains are managed, the forests are man-made, the trees are protected, and the responsibilities are shouldered", fundamentally solving the problems of insufficient protection and development of forest and grass resources and unrealistic responsibilities, so that the protection and development of natural ecological security boundaries are more secure, so that all forests and grasslands will have exclusive guardians.
