On December 2, 1908, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty, Puyi, took the throne in the Taihe Hall, but the young Puyi only became emperor for more than three years, the Qing Dynasty perished, although the Qing Dynasty was nominally destroyed, but Yuan Shikai and the Qing court signed the "Preferential Conditions for the Qing Room", Puyi and others were still allowed to live in the Forbidden City, the small imperial court of the Forbidden City still existed, Puyi still lived the life of an emperor, until 1924 Feng Yuxiang expelled Puyi from the Forbidden City. But Puyi did not leave the Forbidden City alone, but also took away a lot of property in the palace, so how much property did Puyi take away from the palace?

In the 12 years from Puyi's abdication to the time he was thrown out of the palace by Feng Yuxiang, Puyi still lived in the Forbidden City. But as Puyi grew up, he saw clearly that he was originally a "deposed emperor" who had no actual power out of the Forbidden City, and Puyi's heart was actually very worried, worried that one day the Forbidden City would not allow himself to live, and he would eventually be driven out of the Imperial City by others. "What about the treasure of the fallen?" Puyi thought so. As a result, Puyi tried everything to start transferring the property in the Forbidden City. The most important means for Puyi to transfer property is "reward", to whom is the reward? His younger brothers Pu Jie and Pu Jia. According to historical records, since November 1922, Puyi has rewarded PuJie with dozens of celebrity calligraphy and paintings every day, and in this way, there are more than 1,000 celebrity calligraphy and paintings that have been taken out of the palace. Those gold and silver porcelain, on the other hand, were packed in large boxes and loaded into seventy or eighty boxes, which were transported to Tianjin by Puyi.
Puyi and Wanrong
So, where did so many treasures that Puyi brought out of the palace end up? After Puyi was expelled from the Forbidden City by Feng Yuxiang, he went to Tianjin. Puyi's life in Tianjin is still a luxury, and Puyi sometimes wants to eat southern food and invites a cook from Yangzhou. And Wanrong? Also determined to become a "fashionista" in the Republic of China, all kinds of expensive and fashionable clothes have been bought over and over again, but the money in Puyi's pocket has been unable to maintain the luxurious life of Puyi and Wanrong, what to do? Selling property brought out of the Forbidden City. In this way, one after another celebrity calligraphy paintings and jade ornaments were put into the auction house in Tianjin, and a large number of cultural relics began to fall into the folk.

Puyi still has an "emperor dream" in his heart, the Japanese came to Tianjin to "invite" Puyi to the northeast to be emperor, Puyi gladly went, and carried the property brought out of the palace. Unexpectedly, after Puyi arrived in the northeast, he lived a life of house arrest, not only that, but the Japanese also blackmailed Puyi from time to time. The Japanese have long heard that Puyi brought out a lot of treasures from the palace, often came to blackmail, and Puyi was also very afraid of the Japanese and had to give. In this way, a large number of precious cultural relics fell into the pockets of the Japanese. In 1945, Japan was defeated, the puppet Manchukuo no longer existed, Puyi in the flight, can not care about all the treasures, a lot of celebrity calligraphy, paintings, ancient books and classics were puyi left in the puppet Manchukuo palace, and was robbed by soldiers, many calligraphy and paintings have been torn into pieces, those are the treasures of the Chinese nation, some have been passed down to the world for a thousand years, so they no longer exist.
Puyi in his later years
Puyi planned to make a plane in Shenyang to escape, but was caught by the Soviet Red Army, which also captured two suitcases that Puyi carried with him, all of which were treasures brought out of the palace, and later, the Soviet Union returned some of the treasures. Later, Puyi was handed over to the Chinese government, and some treasures were handed over one after another. Most of the seventy or eighty boxes of treasures that were taken out of the palace by Puyi were lost to the people or lost overseas, and only a few were collected in museums, which was really sad.
