Gucci and American designers play Superplastic's first joint NFT series is officially released

Italian luxury brand Gucci has partnered with American designer play and animation entertainment company Superplastic to launch the CryptoJanky NFT co-brand series and handmade ceramic sculptures, marking its entry into the metaverse and NFT fields.

Late last year, Superplastic warmed up the wave of collaborations through its official Twitter and Instagram. (See the "Magnificent Chronicles" report for details:)

The "SuperGucci" co-branded collection is new in three parts, with a total of 10 NFT artworks in the first series, complete with ceramic sculptures handmade in Italy. Designed by Gucci and Superplastic, the collection reinterprets Gucci's iconic motifs, logos and symbols through two cartoon characters, Janky and Guggimon.

The first part is scheduled to go on sale on February 1. At that time, users can log on to the SUPERPLASTIC.co website and order through Gucci Vault. Vault is a new online concept store conceived by the brand's Creative Director Alessandro Michele, a versatile platform that showcases Gucci's used and antique products for sale. In addition, Vault will feature the sixth gucci second-hand collection, first launched last September, each hand-picked by Alessandro Michele and a professional archivist, restored and refurbished with unique numbers and new packaging.

In a statement, the brand said: "SuperGucci marks a highly anticipated step forward for both companies in exploring, experimenting and entering the meta-universe. ”

Prior to this cooperation, both parties had already tried something in the field of NFTs. Gucci released its first NFT film at Christie's Aria NFT, Superplastic has partnered with Christie's auction house to launch the Janky Heist NFT, and it will also release the latest Janky Headtripz NFT series.

About Gucci Vault

During Milan Fashion Week last September, Gucci, an Italian luxury brand owned by Kering, launched Vault, a new online concept store conceived by Creative Director Alessandro Michele. On Vault's virtual shelves, there are used and Gucci pieces from the archives, on the other hand, Vault is also a space dedicated to the products of numerous emerging designers. Founded in 2018 by renowned artist and entrepreneur Paul Budnitz and headquartered in Burlington, Vermont, Superplastic is a hipster-based character-based product and animation entertainment company with legendary toy artist Huck Gee as artistic director.
