The encounter with Glasgow was a complete accident, during the tour of the Whole England, Scotland's first stop was Edinburgh, including the subsequent Highlands, but while waiting in Edinburgh to change the battle, he was attracted by the dialogue of a Glasgow girl, thus adding to the Glasgow itinerary.
In January 2019, Edinburgh at latitude 55°57' N was gloomy, the morning sky was as clear as ever, and the air was still cold. Exhaling, as I assembled at the entrance of the hotel, I saw a girl standing in the guardrail on the side of the road in the distance, eating a sandwich and holding a coffee, looking at Edinburgh Castle on the hill in the distance. My friend and I were both attracted to the girl's back, curious about what she looked like, and in the end I was encouraged to talk to the girl and learn that she was from Glasgow, the third largest city in the United Kingdom next door and the largest city in Scotland. Enthusiastic people always like to pass on their emotions to others no matter what, and listening to her say this, my friend and I decided to add an itinerary before going back to Cardiff – to Glasgow.

Since the distance was not too far, we chose to take the bus. When we arrived in Glasgow, our first impression was still similar to other British cities, and even because Glasgow was "too low-key", we were full of ignorance about it. Even though it was one of the few English cities with a metro, even though it was the centre of the Scottish Enlightenment in the 18th century.
Out of Buchanan Station, I began to explore the city with my bag on my back. To be honest, the urban homogenization of the United Kingdom is actually very strong, and only with care can we find the unique characteristics of each city. So I went to the University of Glasgow, the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world, born in 1451, when China was still during the Ming Dynasty. The charm of Geda lies in its long history, the unique style of architecture - the Main building is really beautiful to cry, and the talent of the people - such as the father of economics - Adam. Smith, and that James. watt. Whether it is Oxford or Cambridge, plus Glasgow, it has to be said that the top universities in the English-speaking world can gather in the British Isles, which is really the envy of the world. Visiting a college campus became my first stop in almost any city, and of course there were museums. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow.
The city of Glasgow doesn't feel big, and of course it may be the reason we haven't fully traveled, but the long slopes everywhere give people a big feeling of the city - after all, climbing is tiring.
George Square in front of the town hall, like other cities, can see a lot of pigeons. People gather in the square on sunny days, basking in the sun and eating sandwiches – there has always been the illusion that the British lunch is not only simple, but also uniformly adds water or coffee to the sandwich. We didn't have time to waste watching others eat, so we hurried into the town hall – the then open town hall is estimated to be a bit difficult to enter now. People in Glasgow, on the whole, are more enthusiastic and like to communicate, even if the thick Scottish accent makes us often not understand what the other party is saying. This was already on the way from Edinburgh to the Highlands, and was confused by the driver's full explanation. Your Chinese English can be understood, but you can't understand it.
The dusk in Glasgow is beautiful, on the windowsill of the hotel, drinking hot tea, watching the sky planes flying over and over again, pulling white smoke, the distant sunset is brilliant and colorful, at that moment, I don't want to leave.
The cold of winter in Glasgow is still the same as ever, like the wind and rain that comes at any time, and the enthusiasm of the people, at any time to give the newcomer a "surprise".
