Jan Hendrik Weissenbruch (born 19 June 1824 in The Hague, died 24 March 1903) was a Dutch painter. Wissynbruch is particularly famous for his watercolor paintings. He comes from an artistic family. When Vissienbruch was sixteen years old, he took a painting lesson from the painter Johanneslow. In 1843, Wissignbrucci attended a night school course taught by Bartholomeus van Hove at the Hague Academy of Art. During the day, he worked with friends in the teacher's studio, making sets for the Theatre Royal.

The early works of Wissynbruch show the strong influence of the Romantic painter Andreas Schefhoff by the Romantic painter Andreas Schefhoff. The details of his early landscape paintings are very detailed, and the magnificent and cloudy sky shows that he was influenced by the 17th-century artist Jacob van Ruisdael. Wissynbruch likes to look at problems with his own eyes. In 1847, Wissynbruch was first exhibited in the exhibition "The Living Masters", where he became one of the founders of The Pukeli Studio.

In 1849, Wissynbruch held his first exhibition, and two years later he presented a panoramic painting to the Tylers Museum in Haarlem. Wissignbrucci was transformed from a typical painter of Dutch Romanticism into one of the best representatives of the Hague School. He belonged to the Kortenhof school and was one of the followers of the Osterbeck school. The beautiful oil paintings and watercolors of Wissynbruch are almost without exception free and delicate in brushstrokes. He enjoys working outdoors in the countryside. In 1900, at the age of 70, he traveled to Barbizon, where he painted his famous work Forest View.
