Beal's interest in changing teams has cooled further and it is focused on maximizing the next contract

According to the US media Actionnetwork reporter Matt Moore, two sources revealed that Beal's interest in changing teams has further cooled.

Some argue that The Beal may seek to leave the team if the Wizards' season doesn't go well, but the team has stabilized for now after a fiery start and a subsequent slump. There's an argument that Beal is focused on maximizing his next contract and staying at Odd is the easiest way to do that.

Beal's salary is $33.72 million this season and a player option worth $36.42 million next season.

Before the start of the season, the Wizards offered Beal a four-year, $181.5 million early contract extension, but no agreement was reached between the two sides. If Beal had jumped out of his contract this offseason, he could have made about $50 million more, when he'd been in the NBA for 10 years and would qualify for a contract with a starting salary of 35 percent.
