Changsha, January 19 (Reporter Peng Chao Correspondent Xiao Longyang) February 2, 2022 is the 26th World Wetlands Day. On January 19, Changsha Ningxiang City held the "26th World Wetland Day in 2022 and the Wetland Protection Law of the People's Republic of China" publicity activity in Jinzhouhu National Wetland Park, aiming to highlight the "harmonious and symbiotic" relationship between people and wetlands and enhance the public's awareness of wetland protection.

At the event site, 20 exhibition boards such as ningxiang city's wetland protection work performance in recent years and world wetland day science popularization knowledge were set up. The staff distributed more than 10,000 copies of the "Law of the People's Republic of China on wetland protection", "Measures for the Management of National Wetland Parks", and "World Wetland Day Publicity New Year Paintings" to passing citizens.

Ningxiang Jinzhou lake national wetland park with the Weijiang River as the main body, the jinzhou dam, feng dam and Zhenzhou dam in the park are connected by cascades, forming a river-type reservoir with a length of about 16 kilometers. The park takes the river wetland formed by the dam as the main body, and also includes the artificial wetlands such as mountain lakes and wetlands, swamp wetlands and their ditches, reservoir ponds, rice fields, and wetland-forest composite ecosystems including plantation forests and natural secondary forests, which are relatively complete and rich in types, and play an important ecological function such as storing floods, conserving water sources, purifying water quality, maintaining wetland biodiversity, and regulating regional climate, providing a guarantee for the ecological security of the Xiangjiang River.

There are 125 species of birds in the park in 15 orders and 40 families, of which 10 species are national second-level key protected wild animals, and the wild plants under national key protection mainly include Metasequoia, ginkgo biloba, palm palm tree, camphor, wild soybean and so on.
