The story of the "genius" translator in Hangzhou swept the screen all over the Internet - Jin Xiaoyu was injured in the left eye by a toy pistol when he was 6 years old, dropped out of high school, and was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder - bipolar disorder, in the case of illness to teach himself English, Japanese, German, Spanish and other Chinese words, translated 22 books in English, Japanese, German and other works, using the weapon of "translation" to fight against fate, and finally he won. Kim's father said that Jin Xiaoyu's success was a kind of "blessing by misfortune."

Is bipolar disorder and genius associated? It is also possible that studies have found that patients with bipolar disorder have higher creativity test scores than controls, and that the proportion of patients with bipolar disorder is unusually high in creative individuals or industries [1-4]. A case-control study compared patients with bipolar disorder, their healthy siblings, and controls based on Swedish population registration data [5]. Patients with bipolar disorder were more likely to engage in creative occupations than controls (OR 1.4, 95% Cl 1.2-1.5), and their siblings were also more likely to engage in creative occupations than their counterparts (OR 1.3, 95% CI 1.2-1.5). In addition, a population study found that creative individuals (e.g., actors, dancers, and musicians) were at higher genetic risk of bipolar disorder than other individuals in the sample based on multiple genetic markers from genome-wide associated data, suggesting that genetic predisposition to bipolar disorder and creativity may overlap with each other [6,7].

What is bipolar disorder? [8] Bipolar disorder is actually manic-depressive disorder, more technically, bipolar disorder, a brain disorder that causes extreme changes in mood and behavior, with a familial genetic predisposition. is a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings, including high mood (manic or hypomanic) and low (depression). Feeling sad or hopeless when depressed and losing interest or fun with most activities. When emotions turn to manic or hypomanic (not as extreme as manic), they feel euphoric, energetic, or unusually irritable.
What are the diagnostic criteria and classifications for bipolar disorder? [8, 9] Bipolar episodes and bipolar disorders are usually based on the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5), and subtypes of bipolar disorders include bipolar type I and bipolar type II. Patients with bipolar type I disorder experience manic episodes, and almost always have major depressive episodes and hypomanic episodes. Bipolar type II disorder is marked by at least one hypomanic episode, at least one major depressive episode, and no manic episode. Bipolar type II disorder is not a milder form of bipolar type I disorder, but a separate diagnosis. While manic episodes of bipolar type I disorder can be serious and dangerous, patients with bipolar type II disorder may be in a depressive state for long periods of time, which can lead to serious damage.
Bipolar disorder prone age? While bipolar disorder can occur at any age, it is usually diagnosed in adolescents or early 20s. Symptoms may vary from person to person, and symptoms may change over time.
Does bipolar disorder affect life? [9] Bipolar disorder Because mood fluctuations often affect sleep, energy, activity, judgment, behavior and the ability to think clearly, patients have to make a lot of effort to maintain work and relationships, and everyone should face up to Jin Xiaoyu's efforts, rather than just focusing on "genius".
Can the disease be cured at present? Unfortunately, bipolar disorder is a lifelong disorder that can be treated to control mood swings and symptoms.
Fate is unfair to Jin Xiaoyu, I think the achievement of Jin Xiaoyu has never been talent and bipolar disorder, but his own non-giving up of opportunities, his own efforts to make himself a genius. If you also have such a similar friend or relative around you, I hope that everyone will care and support a little more, and our small move may help others out of the cold winter!
