Wang Jinping is the deputy director of the Xinggu Street Trade Union Service Station in Pinggu District, Beijing, and has been engaged in trade union work since September 2010 and was awarded the Beijing Outstanding Trade Union Worker in 2021. 11 years of trade union work has made Wang Jinping feel deeply difficult, "grinding out the skin" and "stepping on the soles of shoes" are the real portrayal of her work. But whenever she sees that her work has properly solved the difficulties of employees, she feels that she has no end to it.

Promoting the establishment of the association is one of the important tasks of trade union workers, but the promotion of the construction of the association is not as easy as others think, and it can be said that it is "commonplace" to encounter misunderstandings and eat "closed doors". The process of establishing the Xinggu Subdistrict Office Guangming Community United Trade Union has made Wang Jinping still remember it vividly.

Located in the heart of Pinggu District, adjacent to the city's main thoroughfares and surrounded by communities, The Peking University Market, served by the Guangming Community United Trade Union, is a large-scale commercial distribution center composed of many individual merchants, operating in a wide range of types from food to clothing. Individual merchants have great differences in thinking, and their understanding of trade unions and related policies and systems is not comprehensive, and there are misunderstandings and blind spots.

"In the process of establishing the joint trade union, the staff of xinggu street service station was divided into four groups, divided by management area, each group was responsible for one area, and solved the problems encountered in the process." Wang Jinping recalled.

When Wang Jinping's group first visited the merchants, the first problem they faced was that most of the merchants did not know what kind of organization the trade union was, and there was resistance to the visit of the trade union. "Don't influence me to do business, I'm not interested." "Let's talk about it later, I'm a little busy right now." "It feels like you're lying." Often the staff just finished speaking a sentence, and then directly ate the "closed door soup".

Jianhui encountered setbacks, and Wang Jinping was not discouraged. After returning to the trade union service station, Wang Jinping and his colleagues immediately held a working meeting to discuss corresponding solutions and readjust working methods.

"In order to gain the trust of merchants, we communicate with most merchants in a homely manner, gradually establish contacts, and then introduce the relevant work of the union to the merchants as appropriate, as well as the benefits of joining the union. For merchants who are difficult to make progress, we will communicate patiently and continue to tell them about the relevant policies and systems, as well as the benefits of joining a trade union, until the merchants fully understand and approve. Wang Jinping said.

Soon after joining the association, an individual merchant reported to Wang Jinping his personal practical difficulties and hoped to get help from the trade union. After receiving the news, Wang Jinping and his colleagues immediately rushed to his home to conduct on-site home visits. In the process of entering the household, Wang Jinping learned that the merchant was suffering from illness, the child was in the school stage, there was no other source of income, and even the money to open the store was borrowed, which made his life worse after getting sick. After understanding the situation, the union service station helped him apply for temporary medical assistance in time to solve his practical difficulties. The intimate and high-quality service of the trade union has been recognized by the majority of merchants, and the merchants have begun to join the trade union.

In recent years, in order to attract new employment forms of workers such as couriers and takeaway food delivery workers to the trade union, Wang Jinping led the staff of the trade union service station to visit 6 express delivery industries in the jurisdiction of Xinggu Street for many times to understand the actual situation of the enterprise, organize and carry out symposiums and answer questions on the spot, and at the same time explain the trade union's employment services, legal aid, golden autumn education, help for difficult workers, sending warmth and other services to the courier brothers.

In order to effectively serve the workers of the new employment form and solve their practical difficulties, the trade union service station organized more than 100 couriers in the jurisdiction to conduct health examinations with the support of the Pinggu District Federation of Trade Unions, and set the construction of the "Little Brother Home" as the next goal.

"By creating a 'little brother's home' outdoor workers' rest area, the little brothers 'come to rest when tired, drink water when thirsty, heat up when they have cold food, and charge without electricity', so as to enhance the sense of gain, belonging and identification with trade union organizations for workers in new employment forms." Wang Jinping said.
