According to the southeast network report on January 19, the reporter learned from the press briefing held by the Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Department on the 18th that recently, the scientific research results of Fujian Province " cold chain logistics ultraviolet photocatalytic composite killing machine" began to be applied at the Beijing Winter Olympics, which is the only large-scale surface killing equipment approved for use in the Beijing Winter Olympics, and the project was jointly developed by the team of Academician Fu Xianzhi of Fuzhou University and the team of Dr. Chen Jian of Fuxia Technology.

Winter is a key season for the spread of the epidemic, during the Winter Olympic Games, overseas participants and accompanying personnel are intensively imported, and the luggage, goods and ingredients they carry are at risk of the spread of the new crown virus, so the prevention and control of the epidemic is particularly important. The "Cold Chain Logistics Ultraviolet Photocatalytic Composite Killing Machine" provided by Fujian Province was reviewed by the Technical Department of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and used as a key scientific research product for epidemic prevention in the main venues of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games. This also marks that this ultraviolet photocatalytic killing machine produced in Fujian has fully equipped the ability to protect major international sports events.

It is understood that 9 killing machines have begun to be installed and debugged in the three competition areas of the Winter Olympic Games. Among them, there are 4 Beijing Winter Olympic Villages, 1 Beijing Capital Gymnasium, 3 Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Villages, and 1 Yanqing Winter Olympic Village. These devices will carry out security inspection and elimination of luggage, sports equipment, supporting tools, food and other materials entering the Olympic Village and the Capital Gymnasium, and firmly hold the first hurdle of epidemic prevention and control for the Winter Olympics.

In order to effectively solve the pain points and difficulties of cold chain logistics that are highly concerned at home and abroad, the Provincial Science and Technology Department quickly took action, mobilized the research forces of relevant universities and enterprises to carry out scientific research, and developed the country's first set of ultraviolet catalytic killing machine in half a year. At present, the province has promoted and applied 20 units in the cold chain supervision centralized warehouses in Fuzhou, Ningde and Zhangzhou, as well as Fuzhou Post, Fuzhou University, Engineering College, Provincial Hospital, Union Hospital, Fruit Wholesale Market and other places. Since the on-site verification in the Fuzhou cold chain supervision centralized warehouse in mid-July 2021, 5500 boxes of imported cold chain food have been sampled, and 55 positive samples have been found, which have been eliminated by the killing machine and all the nucleic acid tests have turned negative.

According to reports, Fu Xianzhi academician team of Fuzhou University and Dr. Chen Jian team of Fuxia Technology and other scientific researchers have broken through the mechanism research, overcome technical problems such as prototype design, P3 experimental evaluation, third-party detection, etc., and successfully developed the first scientific research product using ultraviolet light catalysis for the elimination of the new crown virus in just half a year, adding a scientific and technological "weapon" to the prevention and control of the epidemic in the mainland.

In the next step, the science and technology department of Fujian Province will make every effort to ensure the tracking service used by the ultraviolet photocatalytic killing machine in the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and urge enterprises to speed up production to meet the follow-up needs of the Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and the frontline of epidemic prevention and control in Fujian Province.
