According to the Haixi Morning Post, yesterday, the 10th Gulangyu Piano Festival and Gulangyu Double Piano Competition came to a successful conclusion at the "Piano Island" in Xiamen Gulangyu. Young pianist and Steinway artist Jiang Xia and Piano Student Chen Hao of Shanghai Conservatory of Music won the double piano competition.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of Gulangyu Island's inscription on the World Cultural Heritage List, and this year's Piano Festival is hosted by the Gulangyu Island-Wanshishan Scenic and Historic Area Management Committee, aiming to further protect and inherit the history and culture of Gulangyu Island, promote the openness, inclusiveness and exchange and mutual learning of Chinese and foreign cultures, and make the golden business card of Gulangyu Island "Island of Music" shine more brightly.

It is reported that the standard of this competition is very high, and well-known music colleges across the country have sent a strong lineup to participate, and there are many young pianists, Steinway artists, and young performers who have won awards in various important competitions after returning from studying in famous music colleges in Europe and the United States. In the final, the repertoire selected by the six groups of contestants included classic works by Mozart, Brahms, Saint-Saëns, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. The competition also invited 11 pianist authorities to form an expert jury, including Bao Huiqiao, a famous pianist and former vice chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association, and Li Weiming, a music educator and former vice dean of the School of Arts of Xiamen University, as art consultants.

It is worth mentioning that this competition through the unique form of double piano performance, showing the Confucian "resonance of the piano, the unity of beauty and goodness" of the musical art, attracting the majority of pianists "resonance qinser", Yale Xianghe, while building a platform for piano art exchanges, carry forward the characteristics of Gulangyu music culture, highlighting the public welfare of Gulangyu music culture.
