Telegraph: Everton have identified four candidates for the new manager to interview Rooney and Lampard

The Daily Telegraph reported that Everton's pursuit of Roberto Martinez was frustrated, and they re-circled four new coach candidates, including Wayne Rooney and Lampard.

It is reported that Everton chairman Moxley and former boss Ken Wright will personally participate in the selection of the coach and organize interviews for Rooney and Lampard. Rooney came from Everton's academy and started for Everton's first team at the age of 16, and although he left for Manchester United in 2004, he returned to Goodison Park 13 years later.

Rooney is currently in charge of Derby County and his current contract expires in the summer of 2023. He needs approval from Derby County to attend an interview at Everton.

Lampard, who has previously coached Derby County and Chelsea, is currently in a state of idleness, and Everton will also seriously consider the former England international.

In addition, Everton has identified two other candidates, but it is unclear who will compete with Rooney and Lampard.
