Japanese player Hideki Matsuyama won the Championship at the Sony Open and rose nine places in the world rankings to 10th, returning to the top ten in the world. Russell Henry, who lost the extra hole, failed to break the championship drought but rose 16 places in the world rankings to a career high of 40. Top 10: Joan Ram, Colin Morikawa, DJ, Patrick Cantley, JT, Sheophile (1), Hoofland (1), McIlroy (1), Deshambo (1) and Hideki Matsuyama (9).
Chinese mainland players, Yuan Yechun ranked the highest, ranking 370 (8) this week, and Li Haotong won a tie for 12th place at the Sony Open, rising 76 places to 384, returning to second place in the mainland.
