Japanese player Hideki Matsuyama won the Championship at the Sony Open and rose nine places in the world rankings to 10th, returning to the top ten in the world. Russell Henry, who lost the extra hole, failed to break the championship drought but rose 16 places in the world rankings to a career high of 40.
