When the company was founded a few years ago, there were only a few scattered machines, far less than today's scale.

Jian'ou Jifeng Bamboo Industry Co., Ltd. is a collection of bamboo products processing, process research and development, sales as one of the enterprises. Relying on the rich and high-quality bamboo resources in Jian'ou City, Jifeng Bamboo has been committed to developing new outdoor bamboo structural materials to replace traditional high-quality wood to enhance the utilization rate and added value of bamboo, which is not only the core research difficulty of the enterprise for many years, but also the general trend of developing circular economy and building a resource-saving society under the background of "double carbon".

In 2019, Dr. Lou Zhichao, Associate Professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Nanjing Forestry University and Secretary General of the National Innovation Alliance for Forestry and Grassland of the Bamboo Structural Materials Industry, hung up as a provincial science and technology commissioner to serve Jifeng Bamboo Industry Co., Ltd.

"Traditional building decoration materials enterprises usually develop high-quality large-diameter grade log materials, rely on imports, and have great damage to the ecological environment." Lou Zhichao said, "After arriving at the enterprise, we have been considering if we can develop a new technology to expand the application field of bamboo recombinant timber and improve the added value, which will not only greatly improve the production efficiency of the enterprise, but also may be of great significance to the quality and efficiency of the bamboo processing industry." ”

At the same time, the provincial science and technology commissioner team of "high-performance outdoor recombinant bamboo research and development" was formed to promote the production process of Nanjing Forestry University's independent intellectual property rights of outdoor high-endurance recombinant bamboo, and began to develop new technologies based on the existing production process and equipment of the enterprise.

After hundreds of days and nights of repeated experiments, Lou Zhichao and others, under the guidance of Professor Li Yanjun, the leader of the National Ten Thousand Talents Program, developed the key technology of high-temperature heat treatment of tank-type saturated steam at 135 °C ~ 195 °C and introduced key equipment, invented the steam recovery cycle, storage and reuse device, improved the modification efficiency of bamboo beam heat treatment, reduced pollution and energy consumption.

At the same time, the project team successfully developed a "three-dimensional loading technology for inorganic materials" to achieve the effective doping of inorganic materials in recombinant bamboo and prepare a new type of functional recombinant bamboo composites.

Based on this substrate, Lou Zhichao and others developed a high-performance outdoor recombinant bamboo manufacturing process that integrates excellent physical and mechanical properties, anti-corrosion and mildew properties, and moisture-proof performance, and developed corresponding new products. At present, the research results have applied for 3 national invention patents, authorized 2 national utility model patents, and have been reported by internationally renowned academic journals.

In order to improve the promotion of this technology, Lou Zhichao and the project team have applied for the state forestry and grassland administration forestry and grassland national innovation alliance self-financing research and development project and Jiangsu Agricultural Science and Technology Independent Innovation Fund Project fund, the total R & D investment cost of three years reached 4.6286 million yuan; the reconstruction of 4 outdoor bamboo recombinant demonstration production lines with an annual output of 120,000 m3; at the same time, held 3 technical training courses, training personnel reached 162 person-times, more than 2/3 of the front-line employees, greatly improving and promoting the large-scale production of the project.

In May 2020, after many trials and improvements, the project began large-scale production and sales, helping Jifeng Bamboo to sign purchase and sale contracts with a number of enterprises, with total sales of 47.0486 million yuan and a total tax payment of 1.1325 million yuan in 2020, and the production efficiency was greatly improved.

Not only that, due to the high utilization rate of project resources and the high added value of products, the developed series of recombinant bamboo plates for outdoor use with high weather resistance and dimensional stability have broad application prospects, which are of great significance for saving forest resources, increasing farmers' income and protecting the ecological environment.

In recent years, Jiyang Town, Jian'ou City, has actively responded to the call to implement the science and technology commissioner system, "seize opportunities, mission responsibility, and innovation ability", actively cooperate with science and technology commissioners to drive green development in innovation, work hard in serving rural revitalization, and actively explore new sources of rural revitalization.
