Murray averaged 8.9 assists per game, fourth in the league For the first time in Spurs history in nearly 26 years

In a just-concluded NBA regular season game, the Spurs lost 107-121 to the Suns.

Spurs' Dejuntai Murray played 31 minutes, shooting 7-of-16 from the field and 2-of-5 from three-point range, with 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

The data shows that Murray has averaged 8.9 assists per game this season, ranking fourth in the league. The last time spurs averaged 8.9 assists per game was back in 1995-1996, when "Little General" Avery Johnson had the most assists in his career, and the team's star Tony Parker had only 7.7 assists in the 11-12 season.

It is worth mentioning that Murray was not born in the 95-96 season (Murray was born on September 19, 1996), and Popovich has not yet coached the Spurs.
