It was not until September 1, 1939, that with the division of 14 counties such as Ya'an in Sichuan into Xikang, Xikang Province slowly took shape. At that time, Xikang included 32 counties and two administrative bureaus. On January 1, 1939, Xikang Province was officially established.
By 1955, we had withdrawn two provinces. One is Rehe Province, and the other is Xikang Province. So Xikang province existed for a total of 16 years from 1939 to 1955.
