William Edward "Billy" Shen (2 March 1886 – 19 May 1943) was an Australian soldier in World War I who was born in Queensland in 1886 and was of mixed Chinese and English descent. One of the best snipers of the twentieth century, Shen Billy was confirmed to have snipeed 150 Turkish officers and men, including 201 unconfirmed, in less than four months (May 1915 to September 1915) of the Battle of Gallipoli, and died in 1943.

Symo Heich (December 17, 1905 – April 1, 2002) was a Finn who was known to the Soviet Union as the "White Death" during World War II. Originally a farmer and hunter, Seamore Hehe began his military service in 1925 and then joined the Finnish volunteer militia White Guard. During World War II, Haich fought against the Soviet Red Army in the Winter War from 1939 to 1940, using the SAKO M/28-30 rifle and KP-31 Somi submachine gun to set a record of 505 to 542 confirmed kills in 98 days, the highest number of snipers in history.

Fyodor Matwijevich Ohlopkov

Fyodor Matwijevich Ohlopkov (2 March 1908 – 28 May 1968) was a Yakut and Soviet sniper during World War II. Fyodor was the Soviet Army's eighth-highest sniper in terms of kills during World War II, killing 429 people (541 in one sense).

Vasily Grigoevich Zaitsev (23 March 1915 – 15 December 1991) was a prominent Sniper of the Soviet Army during World War II, who killed 225 Wehrmacht and other Axis soldiers and officers (including 11 snipers) between November 10 and December 17 during the Battle of Stalingrad in 1942. Before 10 November 1942, Vasily had killed 32 Axis soldiers with a conventional Mosin-Nagant rifle; between October 1942 and January 1943, Vasily had killed a total of about 242 enemy troops. However, the real number may be higher, and some scholars believe that it may even be as high as 400 or so.

Mateus Hetzenauer (23 December 1924 – 3 October 2004) was a German sniper and Austrian Tyrolean during World War II, who served in the Third Mountain Division of the German Army's Third Mountain Division. With a confirmed effective kill record of 345, it was the German sniper king ranked first in World War II. Mateus once set a long-range confirmed effective kill record of 1100 meters with the Kar98k sniper type.

Adelbert Waldron (March 14, 1933 – October 18, 1995), served in the U.S. Army's Ninth Infantry Division as a sniper and killed 109 people in Vietnam in eight months during the Vietnam War, the highest number of single kills in the U.S. military's "official count" of the Vietnam War. He killed a total of 93 people, and it is said that another 300 people were added; more than 400 people believed to have been killed by him that year.

Zhang Taofang (1931 – October 29, 2007), male, from Xinghua, Jiangsu Province, was a sniper in the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. Zhang Taofang joined the Volunteer Army in March 1951. In January 1953, Zhang Taofang arrived in Shangganling. The Battle of Shangganling ended on November 25, 1952, when the 15th Army, which was originally stationed, was replaced by the 24th Army at the end of the year; the opposing Coalition garrison was the US 3rd Infantry Division. Both sides used the defensive positions they had built. In the Volunteer Army's "Cold Gun And Cold Gun Campaign", Zhang Taofang set a record for killing 214 officers and men of the United Nations force (mainly the US army) at The 537 Heights.
