The interval between Doraemon: Walk with Me 2 (hereinafter referred to as "Walk with Me 2") is long enough to allow the target audience of this classic manga/series (Doraemon manga was originally serialized in the magazine "Elementary School Grades 1-4 Students") to complete the entire elementary school stage.

After the success of "Walk with Me", the creative front of the sequel dragged on for so long, probably because the director and screenwriter have never been able to grasp the "Walk with Me" as a series of dramas, how to position the plot and emotional positioning. "Walk with Me 2" certainly has unsatisfactory points, but the sincerity of the attitude can make the audience forgive the unnaturalness of the film's plot mortise. The film may not be able to "return to childhood" for adult audiences, but for child audiences, it is a good education of love.
As a 50th anniversary work, Walk with Me 2 is both familiar and unfamiliar to readers and viewers. This movie can be regarded as a remake, or it can be regarded as a new story. Readers who have read the 45-volume "Doraemon" are not difficult to find the shadows of the short masterpieces "Memories of Grandma", "The Day I Was Born", "Romantic History of the Snowy Mountains" and "Leaving Shizuka" from the episodes.
The plot of the first two short stories basically entered "Walk with Me 2" unchanged, and the last two short stories were abandoned and used, but the plot theme became the main plot line of "Walk with Me 2" - and then nested into the Mobius ring time and space travel used in the large story of "Doraemon". The script of "Walk with Me 2" strives to stitch in two sets of emotional lines of family and love in a 90-minute period, and also adds a certain adventure plot, which is a bit inadequate compared with "Walk with Me", which concentrates on friendship.
The "crested leopard tail pig belly" emphasized in the literary treatise has achieved "crested head" and "leopard tail" in "Walk with Me 2" - the opening and ending of the film, which is basically faithful to the original text, and it is also the most touching or "tear-inducing". The short story of "Doraemon" was once the most attractive to readers and audiences, and there is no doubt that it is the wonderful prop of Doraemon; but as the target audience is the serial comic of middle and low school students, "Doraemon" is originally positioned as children's literature, so the story is always from the perspective of primary school students, telling the learning, life and emotions of primary school students. Even though there are many short stories that unfold through nobita and Shizuka's "love", they try to avoid substituting themselves into the position of adults: the mode of getting along between the two is closer to the family. "Romantic History of snowy mountains" and "Leaving Shizuka" tell the story of the "future", but this creative attitude is still insisted upon by the author. Adult viewers may think that "romance" is too naïve, but Fujiko · F. Fujio undoubtedly believes that this kind of naïve childishness is the most precious.
"Walk with Me 2" inherits Fujiko · F. Fujio's naïve romance. The film looks for reasons to love and be loved, and the reasons found are simple but moving. The two stories derived from "Memories of Grandma" and "The Day I Was Born" emphasize the unconditional support, tolerance and love between relatives; the original "Escape Marriage" main plot tries to find the same shining support conditions for ordinary people's love, such as firmness and fortitude.
The nobita in the gag short story has the usual greed and anger shortcomings of ordinary people; the nobita in the big story often has to go through a series of adventures and tests to prove the value of bravery and kindness that he upholds in his nature. "Walk with Me 2" does not match enough ups and downs and magnificent bridges, and the original soul swap and soul amnesia plot are not deep enough to put the characters in a desperate situation, which is the reason for the collapse of the plot intensity and emotional intensity in the middle of the movie. But the emotional mode of male and female relationship that "Walk with Me 2" wants to convince the audience to understand and accept is valid and worth pursuing.
The yearning for married life and the fear of married life constitute two sides of the contradiction of modern people's emotional life. Julia Roberts' urban light comedy The Runaway Bride pioneered the narrative genre of "Escape", behind which is the awakening of women's self-awareness. The "Escape Marriage" in "Walk with Me 2" is more complicated to deal with in terms of narrative, because it challenges the concept of "strong men and weak women" marriage combinations that are accustomed to both Eastern and Western cultures. In the transformation and reinterpretation of traditional texts, the idea given by another animated film ,"White Snake Origins", may be more worthy of reference: Xu Xian is no longer the object of retribution, nor is he a weak but useless old and good man; the flounder affection that raises eyebrows is not from the woman's unilateral charity, but the result of the joint operation of both parties. Shizuka's face in "Walk with Me 2" is vague, becoming a passive waiter at the wedding may make the female audience of the film a little dissatisfied; but the film spends a lot of effort to "add drama" to Nobita to reverse the inherent impression of Nobita in the short story of readers and viewers, and to establish the rationality of Nobita's relationship with Shizuka, and the creative strategy is logical.
Audiences are willing to believe that blood-based love can be unconditional and unrequited, but to persuade the audience to accept that adult love and marriage can also come from soul fit and mutual appreciation, rather than necessarily supplemented by material sense of door-to-door pairs, even for the creators of pure love novels/movies, the challenges are difficult.
The excitement of the story of "Walk with Me 2" may be insufficient, but Nobita's speech at the wedding, the text is very well written, can help the audience effectively build confidence in the emotional life of a couple in the film. This kind of confidence is exactly what the film's creative team hopes to help the audience build in their lives off the screen: love is virtue, giving, enterprising attitude, and striving for perfection.
Special effects pursue "good looks" to movies, inspirational pursuits "good burning" to movies, comedy pursues "funny" to movies, and emotions pursue "good crying" to movies. The ancestral and grandchild affection in "Walk with Me 2" reminds people of the old saying that "the son wants to raise and does not wait"; the love of husband and wife also reminds people of "death and life, and the son is said." The hand of the son, and the son with the old age". And take pity on the people in front of you. "Good to Cry" "Walk with Me 2" gives the audience a love education lesson.
