The minister went to a book of ten thousand words, and after an hour of not finishing, Zhu Yuanzhang was so angry that he beat him violently

Zhu Yuanzhang was an emperor with quite a personality. At the beginning of the founding of the Ming Dynasty, zhu Yuanzhang, in order to rectify the style of officials, set an example by using concise and clear colloquial language in the holy will and important instructions, so that the old ladies in the countryside could understand and remember.

Therefore, in Zhu Yuanzhang's holy will, there are often colloquial phrases such as "I know it" and "good things and good things", which is refreshing.

However, the emperor had already taken the lead in changing his style, but some ministers did not change, still giving Zhu Yuanzhang a long speech, and the language was also very difficult to understand.

For example, today we are going to mention the protagonist: Ru Taisu.

The minister went to a book of ten thousand words, and after an hour of not finishing, Zhu Yuanzhang was so angry that he beat him violently

Ru Taisu was a native of Jinning Luze Prefecture (present-day Dayang Town, Zezhou County, Jincheng, Shanxi). In 1370, Ru Taisu passed the township examination and entered the official field as an inspector of imperial history. In the early Ming Dynasty, there were hundreds of industries to be developed, and there was a shortage of talents, although Ru Taisu was only from a popular background, but he was still promoted and appointed. In just a few years, Ru Taisu rose all the way up, successively serving as an envoy to Sichuan, a waiter in the Punishment Department, and a member of the imperial court of Zheng Sanpin.

To be fair, Ru Taisu was a good official, and the Ming Shi commented that he was "known as Pingyun" and "unyielding in resistance to straightness and was constantly on the verge of sin", which is still quite high. However, One of Ru Taisu's shortcomings is that he likes to give Zhu Yuanzhang a long recital, and each piece of music is seven or eight thousand words at every turn, and some are even sprinkled with thousands of words. If it is only a long article, Ru Taisu prefers to show off his writing, making it complex and obscure, empty, and empty, which makes Zhu Yuanzhang feel headaches when he sees it.

One day in December 1375, Ru Taisu made a recital. Zhu Yuanzhang didn't bother to look at it himself, so he asked ZhongshuLang Wang Min to read it to him. Wang Min read for more than an hour, and there were more than 6300 words, and he had not finished reading it. More importantly, Zhu Yuanzhang was confused the whole time, completely unaware of what was said in the song chapter, and his temper flared up on the spot, angrily rebuking: "False words are untrue, clever and chaotic, and I am very tired of it!" Immediately summoned Ru Taisu and beat him unceremoniously.

After beating him violently, Zhu Yuanzhang was discouraged, and the next day he asked Wang Min to continue reading. It took Wang Min a long time to finish reading. Ru Taisu's sonata is 17,000 words long, and from the 16,500th word to the end, she put forward 5 work suggestions in a down-to-earth manner. Zhu Yuanzhang listened, what he said was quite reasonable, and he adopted 4 points. Well, in this sense, Ru Taisu's beating is worth it, right?

Afterwards, Zhu Yuanzhang summed up the lessons learned and sighed: "It is not easy to be a minister, is it easy to be an emperor?" The opinions and suggestions put forward by Ru Taisu can be clearly said in 500 words, and it is necessary to have a whole bunch of useless, which really delays things! To this end, Zhu Yuanzhang stipulated that administrative documents should be more concise and clear, and there should be no red tape and red tape," issued at home and abroad, so that the speakers would have gains and losses, and there would be no red tape. ”

The story of Ru Taisu and Zhu Yuanzhang is not over. Let's move on.

In 1385, Zhu Yuanzhang promoted Ru Taisu to the position of Hubu Shangshu of Zhengerpin. Since Zhu Yuanzhang had already abolished the Chancellor at that time, the powers and duties that originally belonged to the Chancellor were divided among the six Ministries, so the Six Shangshu were like the heads of a hundred officials. Ru Taisu served as Hubu Shangshu and also created a record: he was the only Hubu Shangshu of the entire Ming Dynasty. It can be seen that Zhu Yuanzhang still agrees with Ru Taisu's personal ability.

Once, when Zhu Yuanzhang gave a banquet, he personally gave wine to Ru Taisu, and a sentence came out of his mouth: "The golden cup is the same as Ru drinking, and the white blade is not spared." "These 10 words are equally important, to put it bluntly, drinking wine is drinking, killing the head is killing the head; if you want to make me unhappy, I still want to punish your sins!"

Ru Taisu reacted spontaneously and blurted out: "Dan Cheng wants to serve the country and does not avoid the Sacred Heart." This answer is not humble, it is very calm and decent, and Zhu Yuanzhang is very happy.

Unfortunately, it wasn't long before Ru Taisu was demoted to imperial history. Later, in order to resist the oppression of Zuo Du Yushi Zhan Hui, he angrily went to work with 11 Yushi wearing shackles. In 1398, Ru Taisu was convicted and executed.
