Based on financial year targets for December 2021 and end of 2022, Team17 may also need to pay an additional €25 million ($26.8 million) in cash. Astragon will operate as a separate division of Team17 after being acquired, while also working with other developers. With this acquisition, Team17 intends to expand its product range to provide consumers with nonviolent and cooperative entertainment games.

Astragon CEOs Julia Pfiffer and Tim Schmitz say the studio aims to be a brother in the industry's "working" simulation games. The partnership with Team17 will allow Astragon to grow rapidly and focus on this strategy. The studio looks forward to working with great partners who can realize their ambitions.

In addition to Team17's acquisition of Astragon, last week it also acquired Hell on Earth's IP and U.S. indie game publisher The Label.
