The Taiwan Meteorological Department said that today it is still affected by strong mainland cold air masses, the north and northeast of the central part of Taiwan Province are cold all day, and other areas are cold in the morning and evening; there is local short-term rain in the northern and eastern half of the windward side, there are sporadic short-term rain in the central mountainous areas, and other areas are cloudy to sunny.

The meteorological department pointed out that in terms of low temperatures this morning, the western half and northeast are generally between 11 and 14 degrees Celsius, the eastern and southeastern 15 and 16 degrees Celsius, the temperature of the coastal open areas and the flat land near the mountainous areas is lower, and there are also local low temperatures of about 10 degrees.

Tonight's low temperature is expected to be even lower, north of Tainan and Yilan 10 to 12 degrees, other areas 13 to 15 degrees, and there is also a local probability of less than 10 degrees.

Today, the high temperature will rise slightly, but northern Taiwan is still only about 15 to 17 degrees, other regions can reach more than 20 degrees, and the southern regions will be warmer to 24 degrees.

In addition, the meteorological department said that the northeast wind strengthened, from the afternoon north of Tainan, the eastern half (including Lanyu, Green Island), hengchun peninsula coastal open areas and Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu will have 8 to 9 strong gusts, Penghu box net and other marine aquaculture industries please pay special attention to cold damage, and in the early morning Keelung north coast, the eastern half (including Lanyu, Green Island) and Hengchun Peninsula coastal there is a long wave probability, seaside operations or activities pay attention to safety.
