On this day in 2004, the 19-year-old Dong Fangzhuo officially joined Manchester United, becoming the first Chinese player to play for the Red Devils.

Since then, Dong Fangzhuo has been loaned to Antwerp, scoring 30 goals in 53 appearances in the past three years, and winning the top scorer in the regular season stage of the Second League.
