The Ivorian goalkeeper was suspended for testing positive for doping and missed the Africa Cup of Nations

According to official FIFA news, Ivorian international Silvain Bojoo was temporarily suspended for testing positive for doping in November 2021.

The Ivory Coast national team has not started the opening match of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations for the time being, but their main goalkeeper Bojoo has been banned. The 33-year-old goalkeeper, who tested positive for a doping test in November last year, was officially found to be suspended on Tuesday local time. A FIFA spokesman said the player was temporarily suspended for alleged doping.

Bohoo was doping tested after a 1-0 defeat to Cameroon in Côte d'Ivoire in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, and FIFA began an investigation into the player after the results showed positive. FIFA recently announced that Bojo's suspension will be from 1 January 2022, and the Ivorian Football Federation has 20 days to file a complaint.

"RMC" reported that Ivorian boss Patrice Bomel was also prepared for this, bringing five goalkeepers to the 28-man list. In Bohoo's absence, it was Badera Ali Sangaray who took his place as the starter.
