On January 12, Beijing time, Brazilian giants Santos Club officially announced that former Guangzhou foreign assistant Gaulat joined the franchise, and the two sides signed a contract until the end of 2023.
In January 2015, Gaulat joined Guangzhou Evergrande from Cruzeiro, making 174 appearances in all competitions, contributing 110 goals and 54 assists, winning 3 Chinese Super League titles, 1 AFC Champions League title and 1 FA Cup. In addition, he has leased Palmeiras and Hebei.
In November last year, Gaulat, who failed to naturalize successfully, terminated his contract with Guangzhou and returned to his native Brazil, where teams such as Palmeiras and Fluminese wanted to sign him. In the end, however, it was Pele and Neymar's mother team Santos who negotiated with him successfully.
It is reported that Gaulat signed with Santos until 2023, and he will wear the No. 10 shirt worn by Pele, Diego, Ganso and others. In terms of contract, Gaulat accepted a salary cut, with a monthly salary of only 500,000 reais (about 560,000 yuan), in addition to floating bonuses such as image endorsements.
