The dragon vein mentioned here is a term in ancient Kanyu feng shui, referring to those winding mountains.
From the literal point of view, the original meaning of "pulse" is blood vessel, which is extended to something as coherent as a blood vessel. The dragon is a void thing, its value and meaning are mainly expressed in a symbolic way, in the imagination, the body of the dragon is curved and narrow, so that everything that is long and coherent can be called a dragon vein, and conversely, the dragon vein can also symbolize those things that are long and coherent.
The Feng Shui family takes the South China Sea, the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Yalu River as the boundary, and divides the terrain of the Zhonghua Mountains into three major parts, called the three dry dragons, namely the north dry dragon, the middle dry dragon, and the south dry dragon.

The flat land also has a dragon vein, which is marked by micro-terrain and water flow. The judgment of the dragon vein is to look at the long-term nature of the mountain range, and then identify how the size of the mountain range rises and falls.
Feng Shui masters believe that those who come from mountains are far away, and those who come from mountains are short, and those who come from mountains are also short. In short, the feng shui dragon vein roughly reflects the direction of China's mountain ranges, which is the ancient ancestors' understanding of the simplicity of Chinese geography.
Because in ancient China, the dragon was the symbol and object of the monarch and the emperor, so the dragon vein has another metaphor, that is, those who have been emperors (or may be emperors) or can bury the emperor and protect the descendants of the royal family.
Therefore, the ruling emperor spent a lot of manpower and material resources to "find the dragon's cave" for himself, and found a burial "treasure land" for himself and his descendants, and implemented various measures such as "burying gold and changing the name and building a temple" in it.
Like many words involved in "dragon", the word "dragon vein" has a new meaning in the new era. For example, the newly built Qinghai-Tibet Railway is called the "dragon vein" for entering Tibet, the comprehensive index trend in the securities market is called the stock market "dragon vein", and the Chinese humanistic spirit created by Fuxi Nuwa and the Yellow Emperor of Yandi and continuously carried forward by generations of Chinese people is called "Huaxia Dragon Vein", and so on.
