The Telegraph: United are confident Alexander-Arnold can learn from Woodward and find the right manager to rebuild

According to the Daily Telegraph, Richard Arnold is about to become the new CEO of Manchester United. The Red Devils are confident that he will learn valuable lessons from his previous defeat at Woodward and select the team's fifth official manager in nine years to start a new round of reconstruction.

Under Woodward's leadership, United have never really been in a race close to the Premier League title. Woodward also acknowledged that his turbulent and controversial management had failed. He has also made an effort to solve the problem of the vacancies left by Sir Alex Ferguson after his retirement in 2013, but his various struggles in managerial selection and appointment are regrettable.

Last November, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became the fourth United manager to be sacked by Woodward in nearly eight years. The club realised that the team must now be represented by transitional manager Lonnick and must turn the tide, win the Premier League battle for the fourth and calm the open and dark fights in the locker room.

According to multiple sources close to Woodward, he "stubbornly" believes he is making all football decisions and regrets not appointing a football director earlier. Arnold is understood to be an advocate of "decentralized" leadership and will give greater autonomy to football director John Muttaf and technical director Darren Fletcher. Both were given the task of leading the search for a new manager.

After the initial firing of Jose Mourinho, United had announced that they would look for a replacement through a "thorough and meticulous process", but in the end, they did not fulfill the promise, but simply handed over the managerial position to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was initially a temporary agent. Senior sources at Old Trafford confirm that this time, United will not repeat the mistakes of the past.

Lonnick himself is not a highly anticipated candidate, but the 63-year-old German wants to be involved in the process in the coming months before working as a consultant for the club starting in the summer. United do not yet have a clear preferred target at this stage, they have already carefully assessed the resume and strengths of some of the goals, and then plan to narrow down the range of candidates.

Manchester United are very bullish on Nagelsmann, but the latter wants to stay at Bayern Munich. Paris Saint-Germain manager and former Tottenham Boss Pochettino has enthusiasm for coming to Old Trafford and is also very optimistic about the United executives, which is considered a very suitable candidate by the outside world. Ajax coach Tenhach and Leicester city manager Rogers may also be considered because of their qualifications. In addition, some people think that the Italian team manager and former Manchester city manager Mancini is also interested in this position.

United have shown interest in England boss Sothgate in the past, but he is determined to play the World Cup in Qatar with the Three Lions in November. As for whether a "dark horse" like Brighton boss Graham Porter will be considered by Manchester United, it remains to be seen.
