At the outbreak of the Sino-Vietnamese War in 1979, Guo Rongrong was working as the head of the film screening team. She was meticulous and rigorous in her film screening work, and there were no screening mistakes, and the work was very smooth. It can be said that she did not have to join the war, and showing a movie in a peaceful rear was a superior choice. But she chose to take the path she thought was the best, and she repeatedly submitted her application to go to the front, firmly wanting to contribute to the protection of the people and the protection of the country.
Under her unremitting efforts, she finally got approval and quickly rushed to the front. She was assigned to the "Wounded and Martyrs Group", and as soon as she arrived at the front line, she directly went to work to comfort the wounded soldiers and collect the martyrs who had unfortunately died. Later, among her comrades who went with her, she learned that when she arrived at the front line, she was actually frightened by the fierceness of the war, but she did not give herself time to sort out her mood, but directly threw herself into work.

In the war of artillery fire, Guo Rongrong grew rapidly. While comforting the wounded, she also searched for water, passing through the rain of bullets and bullets countless times. The most dangerous job is to travel back and forth between the China-Vietnam border and escort the remains of the wounded and martyrs back to Their Home. In the midst of the crisis, she also did not forget to carefully comfort the wounded with words, "If you are injured, go back to raise them well, and if we are well, we will bear it first."
Many trips to and from the Border between China and Vietnam have been taken care of by the God of Luck, but on the day of February 26th, the God of Luck suddenly disappeared. Guo Rongrong's group of martyrs received the task of quickly sending the martyrs who died not long ago back to China. According to her work experience, she chose to guard the direction behind the truck, and when she traveled to the way, the three sides of the truck were subjected to strong fire strafing, and Guo Rongrong was shot in the neck and died on the spot, only 24 years old.
The driver of the transport team was also shot, and the instructor sitting in the co-pilot reacted quickly, helped the driver off the truck, and called another soldier, Xiao Zhao, to get out of the car, who luckily found a hiding place and survived the crisis. But the remains of Guo Rongrong and other martyrs who stayed in the car were directly burned by the enemy.

Guo Rongrong was born in 1955 in an ordinary family in Shandong Province, when New China has been established for 6 years, she was fortunate to be born in an era when there was no war, but the scars caused by the war still stayed on Guo Rongrong's elders, so Guo Rongrong knew the cruelty of war when she was young, and would become a female soldier as her goal.
After the hard work of the dance troupe, Guo Rongrong put on the military uniform as she wished and became a literary and artistic soldier. Literary and artistic soldiers are a kind of soldier who is easily misunderstood by people who do not know the inside story, their lives are harder than imagined, they have to do a lot of practice every day, and they often need to carry out literary and artistic performances with the literary and artistic group when they receive performance tasks. Guo Rongrong insisted on performing many times in her physical discomfort, and this dedication and dedication touched other comrades-in-arms and successfully joined the party.
After joining the party, Guo Rongrong did not become complacent because of the success of joining the party, but was more diligent and hardworking in her post. Soon after, she was transferred to the ministry of government as a film projectionist because of her dedication to work, and if she had not joined the war because of her insistence, it is conceivable that her future life would be clear.
Guo Rongrong was the only female soldier to die in the Sino-Vietnamese War, and soon after, the Division's Political Department posthumously awarded her a third-class personal merit, posthumously recognized the martyr, and buried her in the Guangxi Longxi Martyrs Cemetery. Years later, Guo Rongrong's tombstone was moved back to her hometown, Fushan Martyrs Cemetery in Shandong.
