The LCK Spring Tournament will kick off on January 12, and the LCK veteran gen team has undergone a large-scale restructuring during the transfer period: the introduction of former GRF single Doran, auxiliary Lehends, former LGD, NS Playano Pineut and former HLE single Chovy, which is favored by all walks of life as "Galaxy Battleship". Recently, Korean media Inven Global interviewed Peanut and Doran, let's listen to what Peanuts talked about
Q: You've all been reunited with your old teammates, do you think your teamwork is better?
Peanut: The GRF synergy was really good (Doran and Chovy were teammates in the GRF era), and the five of us, including Ruler and I, built a better team and it's pretty good now.
Q: You're back at GEN now, and in fact there are very few players who have played for your old clubs again, how did you get back?
Peanut: I came back through trade, so I don't know what the team will be like, I just want everything to go smoothly, but when my teammates are doing a lot better than I expected, it's better for me.
Q: How do you feel when you play at LGD, and what do you think is the difference between the LPL and LCK divisions?
Peanut: In China I was able to push the limits, the LPL division is completely different, it's different from the environment, and it allows you to try new things without hesitation. When the LPL was doing well, the LCK coach said "don't be afraid to 'die', try something new", but when we wanted to surprise the trick and ultimately couldn't succeed, we didn't change much.
When I was in the LPL, the whole team was open-minded and everyone was willing to change, so I was comfortable playing and feeling like I could really break the rules, and even though the result was that we would make mistakes in the game, we were more focused on how to maximize our strengths. Obviously I'm lucky to be with a team like this, and the LGD teammates are amazing!
Q: I heard that you and Khan became very close when he played in the LPL in 2020, what do you think of his retirement?
Peanut: We talk a lot in the LPL and I don't feel much when he says he's ready to retire, but I'm sad after I watched the World Series finals, and I was even sadder to see them interview with a positive and optimistic attitude, and I felt like if I lost the last game of my career, I wouldn't be able to face the interview as positively as he did.
