Irving refused to be vaccinated, which at one point kept him out of the Lineup by the Nets. But that decision changed in mid-December, with the Nets announcing that Irving would return as a part-time player to play outside of New York and Toronto.
New York City regulations allow Irving to train at home but not play. Canadian law requires all visitors entering the country to be vaccinated. In San Francisco, anyone 12 years of age or older will need to show proof of full vaccination before attending a major event, including an NBA game at the Golden State Warriors Chase Center, but the law doesn't apply to members of the away team. In other words, Irving won't miss an away game against the Warriors.
By this calculation, Irving has only 22 regular season games left, all outside Brooklyn.
