McCoister: Rice is unlikely to go to Manchester United, and the Red Devils are not as attractive as they used to be

The Mirror reported that former Rangers star and talkSPORT expert McCoyst said that in terms of attracting good talent, Manchester United has no attraction like during the Sir Ferguson era.

As the January transfer window opens, there has been speculation about which players Lonnick might recruit to enrich his options for the rest of the season. One of the names is West Ham United's Rice, and the Premier League giants want the 22-year-old, especially Manchester United and Chelsea, who have made no secret of their interest.

However, McCoyst said Rice was unlikely to see Old Trafford as his ideal destination as other teams were also interested in him. Speaking about Rice's future, McCoyst explained: "I would love to see him stay at West Ham United and if West Ham Continues to improve, there must be support and investment for that – I think Moyes and West Ham fans deserve it, and I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed a few more years. ”

"Big clubs, competing for the top four teams, it's only natural, where are he going? Is he going to Manchester City? Is he going to Chelsea? He's not going to Manchester United, right? ”

Asked later if United are still as attractive to players from other clubs as they used to be, McCoyst said: "They're not going to be like when Ferguson was in charge because they've gone down, they've really gone down. Other teams are now more attractive, including Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. ”

"Does he (Rice) want to go to the top game? Of course he wanted to, but he still had time, and it would be an interesting phase. He can move because he's so good and can get into most of the big clubs and it's an interesting decision he has to make. ”

Rice had another fantastic season in West Ham midfield, both domestically and in Europe. West Ham united have had success in the Europa League, their first time in the knockout stages. West Ham are currently fifth in the Premier League table, just one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
