With the start of the 2022 LCK Spring Race and the release of the schedule, we are also looking forward to the official start of the new season. This morning, LCK officially released some of the rules of 2022 through the official blog, the content is mainly divided into several points, on the one hand, about the big list adjustment, on the other hand, about the world championship seeding seat.
A large list of players from each team
LCK official in the announcement of the first mention is the adjustment of each team for the big list, the new regulations, the major teams can be adjusted on a weekly basis, last season the content of the content is once every two weeks, so the advantage of the adjustment is that the major teams can flexibly fine-tune the player lineup, but from the past few seasons of practice, most of the teams will not frequently adjust the personnel up and down, like T1 last season's 10-man list is not needed.
World Seedings
Because it is not yet possible to determine whether the LCK division will still have four World Seeded Seats this year, the precondition for the current rule is if it can get a fourth-seeded spot. The new rules say that if LCK wins 4 seeded spots at the 2022 World Championship, the LCK Regional Qualifiers will change, with no changes in seeded 1st and 2nd seeds.
The adjusted content is also officially mentioned by LCK
The general content is:
Seed No. 3: 1st vs. 2nd in points of the year, winner is Seed No. 3
Seed No. 4: Third vs. fourth in points of the year, the loser is eliminated, and the winner and the loser of the previous game decide the fourth seed
This new regional qualifier model is in line with the regional qualifier format that the LPL will implement in 2020 and 2021
Regular season cycle adjustments
The previous LCK regular season was divided into the first and second rounds, while the first round was played out with five match days per week, the second round with four match days per week, and the adjusted cycle was five match days per week, whether it was the first or second round.
The reason for this adjustment is to leave time for the qualifiers for this year's Hangzhou Asian Games.
