The Lakers sent Rondo away through a deal saving nearly $4 million in salaries and luxury taxes

Live Bar Jan. 4 Today, the Lakers, Knicks and Cavaliers' tripartite deal on Rondo was officially announced.

The Lakers get the right to sign for 2014 No. 57 Luis Rabberry (who won't join the team).

Knight gets: Rondo.

The Knicks received: Valentine, brad Newley in 2007's No. 54 show, 2016's No. 57 king's signing rights and some cash from the Lakers ($1.1 million).

According to Lakers reporter Dave McMenamin, as a veteran who has played in the league for 16 years, Rondo's salary this season is the veteran's base salary ($2.64 million), and the Lakers sent it away through a deal, saving nearly $4 million in salary and luxury taxes, and also freeing up a lineup place.
