Tesla Custom Light Show Editing Guide

Tesla Custom Light Show Editing Guide

Tesla in the 2021 Christmas update, launched a full range of light show (LightShow) function, I believe many small partners have experienced, but many people do not know that the light show in addition to the default version of the car, but also can be customized operation, including music, lighting, rhythm control, can be self-directed.

So, how do you implement a custom light show? This nanny-level guide will teach you to make your own Tesla light show.

Welcome to the Tesla Light Show Editor's Guide!

You can create and run your own light show on Tesla Cars. Whether it's a powerful DJ mix or a lyrical concert, it's easy to achieve, making your Tesla the center of attention in an instant.

- How to run a custom light show

Custom light shows can be run on any supported vehicle via USB stick, and you can share your self-written and self-directed light show files with others. Stored on a USB stick, the light show file consists of a sequence file .fseq and a music file .mp3 or .wav, where the sequence file is edited by xLights software (more details on how to use and obtain it later), and the music file is from the track of your choice.

Tip: Sequence files are not limited by the specified car model.

- Supported models

Model S (2021+)

Model 3

Model X (2021+)

Model Y

Note: Requires vehicle firmware v11 (2021.44.25) or later

-USB flash drive requirements

Must be formatted in exFAT, fat32 (Windows), MS-DOS FAT (Mac), ext3, ext4 formats. (NTFS is not currently supported)

First create a folder named "LightShow" in the root directory of the USB flash drive (without quotation marks, case sensitive)

The folder must contain 2 files:

"lightshow.fseq"

"lightshow.mp3" or "lightshow.wav" (wav recommended)

Note: The root directory cannot contain the TeslaCam folder.

Note: The root directory cannot contain any map updates or firmware update files.

- Procedure

Insert the USB stick into the USB port or Type-c port in the car and wait for a few seconds. In the Toy Box, select Light Show, and then tap Start Light Show. If the files on the USB flash drive meet the requirements, a "Custom Light Show" will be run instead of a "Light Show".

When the custom light show loads, "Loading lightshow.fseq" appears at the bottom of the pop-up window. When the display changes to "Light show ready!" "When you can leave the vehicle, the custom light show begins.

Note: If the pop-up title is "Light Show" instead of "Custom Light Show", then the U disk format is incorrect or the desired folder/file is incorrect.

Note If the required file exists, but there is a problem with the light show sequence file, an error message will be displayed.
