At 0:30:34 on January 1, Guangzhou officially entered the New Year

On the last day of 2021, people look forward to the arrival of New Year's Eve, and many people believe that a new year will begin at 24:00 on December 31, 2021 (that is, 0:00 on January 1, 2022). But many people may not know that at this moment, in fact, most places in the country have not yet entered the New Year. Taking Guangzhou City as an example, the urban area of Guangzhou did not enter 2022 until 0:30:34 on January 1, 2022.

At 0:30:34 on January 1, Guangzhou officially entered the New Year

The reason is that the "two kinds of jet lag" are at work. The first type of "time difference" is the difference in time between two regional places that people are more familiar with. From the analysis of regional characteristics, China's Pamir Plateau in the west to the intersection of the main channel of the Heilongjiang River and the Ussuri River in the east spans five time zones, so it is impossible for all parts of the country to enter 2022 at the same time. China adopts the Time of the Eighth District of the East as the universal time of the whole country. Looking at the map of China, it is not difficult to see that most of China's territory is located in the area west of the 120 ° E meridian, so many places are slower than Beijing time. That's why most parts of the country are not entering 2022 at the same time.

The second type of "jet lag" is the difference between "true solar time" and "normal solar time", which is relatively unfamiliar to people. According to Kepler's law, we learn that the orbit of the earth around the sun is not a perfect circle, but an ellipse, the sun is located on a focal point of the ellipse, and the connection between the earth and the sun is swept by the same area per unit time, so the distance between the earth and the sun is not equal every day, producing "true solar time", but people for the convenience of daily production and life, formulated the "flat solar time" used in our daily clocks, "flat solar time" that is, the "true solar time" is averaged, resulting in an equal 24 hours every day, so " Normal solar time " and "true solar time " have a certain "time difference" every day. The time difference between "true solar time" and "normal solar time" is constantly changing throughout the year, with the maximum positive value being about +14 minutes and 24 seconds, the maximum negative value being about -16 minutes and 24 seconds, and 4 times equal to zero. According to the solar timetable: on December 31, 2021, "true solar time" was 2 minutes and 54.04 seconds slower than "flat solar time"; on January 1, 2022, "true solar time" was 3 minutes and 22.63 seconds slower than "normal solar time".
