Aria, who debuted in LJL, joined DFM as a mid-single in 2021, and after winning the LJL spring and summer championship, she entered the group stage of the S11 World Stage, breaking the best result in the history of the LJL team. In the 2022 season, Aria decided to join KT, debuting on his "fantastic stage" LCK for the first time in three years of his debut.
Q: How was it to debut on the LCK arena for the first time?
Hello everyone, I played in Japan for about three years, this time joining Aria of KT. For me, the LCK is a fantastic stage. There are tight and afraid, but also with full expectations.
Q: I heard that you have a lot of trouble about joining the LCK team?
Before I would think "LCK's singles are playing very well, can I do it after I go?" "But I felt like I would never have such a good opportunity if I missed it, so I decided to join KT." I have been working in Japan since I was 20 years old, and I miss my hometown. I originally wanted to play in the LCK team once, but this time I had such a good opportunity, so I was very happy.
Q: Do you feel like you're really joining the LCK team?
The KT players are really good and I just want to play hard here. In fact, I thought I could enter the LCK team after the world championship, but I didn't expect it to be possible. (Laughs) I'm also practicing hard now, and although I sometimes have difficulties, I can learn a lot. Feel like you can look better in the game.
Q: In 2021, your team representing LJL in your team, DFM, qualified for the knockout stage of the World Series for the first time, and had the best year.
It is a year of growing up from the outside and learning a lot about yourself from the inside of the game. Although it did not achieve a single victory in the group stage of the S11 World Stage, it was not a fiasco. After the game, regret and comfort mixed.
Q: KT has re-formed the roster at the end of the 2022 season, what is the overall atmosphere in the team?
The atmosphere of the team is really good, the players are very kind, each is full of charm, and the life is very interesting.
Q: I heard that another advantage of KT is the rice cooked by the aunt?
When I lived in Japan, I occasionally missed the Korean national meal. The meal made by Aunt KT was really delicious. Every day the menu was different and all delicious.
Q: Many people are suspicious that although the Aria player is "Nichiichi", it is not okay in LCK?
LCK has a lot of very strong singles, so it is only natural to have such doubts. I will prove my strength in the game.
Q: What do you think is the biggest attraction of KT for you?
I joined as the last player when four other players had already been identified. When I saw the big list, I thought that as long as I played well, I would be able to reach the world championship. That in itself is a huge competitiveness for me.
Q: What do you think needs to be improved at the moment?
I also need to learn from my teammates and coaching staff, to improve my vision and communication. Now I'm playing training games every day, I feel like the level is high, and I'm putting my energy into every game. It's tiring, but it's nice to learn while playing.
Q: Are there any teams or players who want to compete?
It's worth being wary of Gen.G. They're really strong just by looking at the big list.
Q: I have another chance to compete with Faker, who has played in the World Championship.
In the first showdown at the World Championship, it felt like he hadn't been able to play his form under his aura. I think I'll get used to it as the game progresses. If the team is well coordinated, it should be able to show a good look.
Q: Can I talk to you about my strengths through the interview?
After entering LCK, I felt a lot of inadequacies in the hero pool and on the line, and it was better to turn my shortcomings into strengths than strengths.
Q: What are the goals for the 2022 season?
The team's goal is, of course, to reach the World Championships; but personally, my personal goal is that I won't be left behind in the matchups when I meet other singles players.
