Born as a propagandist in the Red Army, what he did not expect was that he later became the political commissar and director of the political department of our army, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he also held many important posts, such as the political commissar of the First Higher Infantry School, the director of the political department of the Northwest Military Region, the member of the Central Military Commission, etc. In 1955, he was awarded the rank of founding lieutenant general, but what is extremely puzzling is that in 1977, he was suddenly dismissed from his post, and he only enjoyed the retirement treatment of the division level.

He was the former political commissar of the Lanzhou Military Region, General Xian Henghan, who was born in Tianyang, Guangxi in 1911, and although he was born in a poor family, with the strong support of his family, Xian Henghan read books and learned a lot of cultural ideas during his study, especially when he came into contact with progressive revolutionary ideas, which undoubtedly touched Xian Henghan a lot.
After all, Xian Henghan was a person who was extremely eager for fairness and freedom, but the current situation of the old society made him extremely angry, why the poor were always oppressed, why the warlords were indifferent to foreigners, but constantly squeezed the people at the bottom.
In 1929, Xian Henghan officially joined the Red Army and served in the Red 7 Army, because Xian Henghan had a certain cultural knowledge of me, so he was naturally valued by his superiors, so he became a propagandist in our Red 7 Army.
During the period of the agrarian revolution, Xian Henghan successively served as a propagandist of the Political Department of the Nineteenth Division of the Red Seventh Army, a political commissar of the First Company of the Seventh Regiment of the Xianggan Independent Third Division, a political commissar of the Eighth Independent Division of Xianggan, and a deputy political commissar and director of the Political Department of the Fifty-first Regiment of the Seventeenth Division.
After coming to Yan'an, Xian Henghan entered the Security Red Army University and the Yan'an Anti-Japanese Military and Political University to study, and not long after the Anti-Japanese War broke out in an all-round way, Xian Henghan was also extremely eager to lead his troops into the battlefield and fight with the Japanese army, and in the following years, Xian Henghan successively served as the director of the Organization Department of the Political Department of the 120th Division, the political commissar of the Independent First Brigade of the 120th Division, and the deputy political commissar of the 358th Brigade of the 120th Division, during which he was also praised by his superiors many times.
In the War of Liberation, General Xian Henghan's performance was also incomparably outstanding, and he served as the director of the political department of the first column of the Jinsui Military Region, the director of the political department of the first column of the Northwest Field Army, and the first deputy political commissar of the first army.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, General Xian Henghan was naturally also highly valued by our party, and his position was constantly promoted, from the political commissar of the First Higher Infantry School, the deputy director and director of the political department of the Northwest Military Region, the political commissar of the Lanzhou Military Region, and the member of the Central Committee (April 1969).
And in the 55 years of military titles, Xian Henghan was awarded the rank of founding lieutenant general, and was awarded the Order of August 1st Class, the First Class Independence Freedom Medal, and the First Class Liberation Medal.
Regrettably, however, during some periods, Xian Henghan made some mistakes that led to some chaos in the Gansu region, and it was this problem that led to his dismissal and quarantine in 1977.
In 1982, Xian Henghan officially retired from the army, and only enjoyed the political and medical treatment of cadres at the prefectural and division level, but fortunately in 1985, Xian Henghan was restored to the treatment of the regular army, after all, Xian Henghan did make a lot of merits for the Chinese revolution, and the merits of the old generals should not be humiliated.
On November 19, 1991, Xian Henghan, former political commissar of Lanzhou Military Region and founding lieutenant general, died of illness in Lanzhou.
