Tour around the village
On a May Day festival about twenty years ago, I took my daughter who was less than ten years old to Zhouzhuang. The impression of Zhouzhuang is simple and beautiful, and the folk customs are simple. Now again, everywhere is advertised, known as "there is a life called Zhouzhuang", supporting cruise ships (is the boat outside Zhouzhuang), Soochow University Zhouzhuang Branch, buses, special cars to scenic spots, etc., as if there is a sense of tallness, as if not to a small ancient town but to a bustling metropolis, oh, the impression of Zhouzhuang ancient town is not this atmosphere.
Just after stepping into the ancient town, the small bridge flowing water, the old tile houses on the stone road, and the moss at the root of the wall recalled the Zhouzhuang of my dream. Double bridge or that double bridge, take a look around, the double bridge and some of the houses, showing some damage, is it unbearable crowd flow or the destruction of the years? Shen Hall and Zhang Hall are more prosperous and grand, but they always feel a little awkward.
This time I saw a carton king, all the objects displayed are made of cartons, it feels good, but this does not seem to be a feature of Zhouzhuang?
More than 20 years ago, I bought Wan San Hoof and Mother-in-law dishes, and this time I bought some sock bottom crisps and mung bean cakes and mother-in-law dishes (pickles pickled from Zhouzhuang vegetable moss). The sock bottom crisp and mung bean cake are good, still the same flavor as when I was a child, but the mother-in-law dish is too bad. In the past, it was the tip of tender vegetable moss, including bamboo shoots, but now it is old and tender, but without bamboo shoots, the umami taste is greatly reduced.
