First, the four major production areas of grapefruit in China.
There are more varieties of grapefruit in China, and relatively speaking, there are more places of origin, such as Hainan, Guilin, Hunan, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing and Xishuangbanna in Yunnan, etc., these places produce grapefruit, and today mainly introduce the following four production areas.
(1) Meizhou City, Guangdong Province: Grapefruit cultivation has a history of 100 years and is known as the "Hometown of China's Golden Grapefruit". With an annual output of about 800,000 tons, the output accounts for 90% of the output of grapefruit in Guangdong Province, accounting for 1/5 of the country, and is the largest grapefruit production base in the country.
(2) Yulin City, Guangxi Province: Known as the hometown of "China's Shatian grapefruit". Sha Tin grapefruit fruit is pear-shaped, orange-yellow in color, the taste is sweet and fragrant, after eating dessert and then eating some grapefruit, both appetizing and degreasing, Sha tin grapefruit is also a specialty of Yulin.
(3) Mazhan Town, Cangnan County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province: Known as the "hometown of four seasons of grapefruit", located at the junction of Zhejiang and Fujian, bordering the East China Sea, the four seasons are like spring, the climate is pleasant, grapefruit blossoms in all seasons, and the fruits of the four seasons are called "four seasons grapefruit".
(4) Pinghe County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province: the hometown of The Chuoxi grapefruit in China, the history of pinghe grapefruit cultivation for more than 500 years, as early as the Qianlong period was listed as a tribute to the imperial court, and in 1995, Pinghe County was named "the hometown of China's Zhuoxi grapefruit".
Second, grapefruit can be divided into three categories according to the variety.
(1) Wendan grapefruit: there are many types of inclusion, such as Shuxi grapefruit, four seasons grapefruit, etc., generally soft flesh, large moisture, sweet taste.
(2) Sha tin grapefruit: traditional varieties, the fruit shape is larger, round, pear-shaped, gourd-shaped, flat type, generally crisp and crisp flesh, rich taste, high sweetness, but less water seeds more.
(3) Interspecific hybrid grapefruit: such as orange grapefruit, cherry grapefruit, etc., generally small in size, the size is as large as an orange, the moisture is large, the sweetness is high, and it is not easy to peel.
Third, according to the color can be divided into: white, red, yellow, three red four categories.
(1) White meat grapefruit: also the largest yield, the average person has eaten, peel off the golden skin, what comes into sight is a piece of slightly yellowed and white transparent flesh, the flesh is tender and juicy, the taste is sweet.
(2) Red meat grapefruit: use a knife to gently stroke around the peel, peel off the skin, a grain of color such as bright, red as agate, rich and full of red meat grapefruit, people can't help it, just want to bite immediately. The reason why the pulp is red is because it is rich in vitamin A, β– carotene and lycopene, which is particularly popular with the public.
