It is understood that the event has tens of thousands of players participating every year, and the junior high school student has entered the final for two consecutive years, which is also the youngest finalist in the 16th edition of the competition since it was held.

Last year, Chen Yifan won the 2766th place in the competition, and this year won the top 20 in the primary and secondary school group.

Talking about the reasons for progress, Chen Yifan said that he liked programming in the fourth grade, and has participated in more than ten programming competitions so far, the accumulation of experience is on the one hand, on the other hand, he is not willing to accept more than two thousand rankings last year, "This is the worst (grade) in the history of my programming, I must be ashamed this year."

As the youngest finalist in his grade, Chen Yifan said that there is pressure, but I am still young, and it is not shameful to lose to my brothers and sisters, and they should be more stressed.

Chen Yifan revealed that in addition to programming, he also wants to learn AI. Last year, when Baidu Star (awarded), Baidu chief technology officer Wang Haifeng gave him a set of AI extracurricular books, and Chen Yifan used it as an after-dinner dessert and did AI experiments after class.

It is understood that Baidu Star is one of Baidu's talent training programs. Earlier, Baidu CEO Robin Li said that in the next five years, Baidu will train 5 million AI talents for the society.
