That side of the affectionate water and soil
In the 1980s, I learned in a geography textbook that there was a city in Guizhou Province called "Southwest Coal Sea" and "Jiangnan Coal Capital", that is, Liupanshui. It echoed the Liupan Mountains in northwestern Ningxia and has been frozen in my mind ever since.
In August last year, I went to Zhaotong, Yunnan Province, to support education, and was left in Zhongshan in Zhaotong to engage in propaganda work by the Sixth Poverty Alleviation Cooperation Working Group of Guangdong Province. In May this year, the working group was stationed in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, which also belongs to the Wumeng Mountains, Zhaotong City and even Yunnan Province and Shanghai Municipality to form an east-west cooperation pair.
In fact, in mid-April, I accompanied the working group on a week-long inspection of the funding projects of the Liuzhi Special Zone, Shuicheng District and Panzhou City in Zhongshan to help Liupanshui. At that time, it was learned that the original city name of Liupanshui came from the combination of the first characters of the names of these three county-level administrative regions. This is the same as during the Kangxi Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty, Jiangnan Province was divided into two, the Shangjiang part took the first character of Anqing Province and Huizhou Prefecture to form Anhui Province, and the Lower River part took the first character of Jiangning Province and Suzhou Province to establish Jiangsu Province.
Liupanshui is a new immigrant city. In the 1960s, the state carried out construction in the central and western regions. Six branches were separated from the Anshun area, PanXian from the Xingyi area, and Shuicheng from the Bijie area, and the three were named "special zones" to form the new Liupanshui area. Liupanshui thus embarked on the road of industrial development.
Unlike Shenzhen, China's largest immigrant city, Liupanshui's most spoken language is the local southwestern dialect, and Mandarin has not yet become the mainstream of the city. "Annoyed" and "old fire" are hot words that are used more often by locals, and they are also two words that make it easy for newcomers to confuse outsiders.
Liupanshui's urban LOGO is an artistic "six" character. The point above is the town of Dawan, which is surrounded by the Weining Yi Hui and Miao Autonomous County in Bijie City next door. This enclave reminds me of my hometown, Zhanghu Town, five thousand miles away, which was formed by the merger of Dawan Township and Zhongzhou Township. I attended Dawan Junior High School. Zhongshan, where he now lives, is located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The "one point" of Dawan Town suddenly narrowed my psychological distance and made me feel a little familiar with the city.
Although I was exposed to the six pans of water in the textbook when I was in junior high school, and now it has been more than thirty years since I "unconsciously transferred here", the six pans of water are not at all raw to me. It is also like an old friend who has not been seen for a long time, and it is still the same when they meet again many years later.
The Zhongshan District, the main urban area of Liupanshui City, is different from other more square urban areas, and is a strip-like layout, roughly in a northwest-southeast direction. Several main roads, such as Zhongshan Avenue and Liangdu Avenue in the east-west direction, support the skeleton of the main urban area, and the distance between north and south is very short. After all, in Guizhou, where the land is "flat without three feet", it is quite difficult to come up with a square urban framework. Looking out of the window, the mountain is in the city; overlooking from the air, the city is in the mountains. It can only be formed according to the situation, filling the buildings in the dense peak forest. Unless it is a last resort, urban planners will not blow up mountains and move stones to build houses. If Lu You had come, the sense of "willow dark flowers and bright flowers" would definitely explode.
Before midsummer, I had the privilege of experiencing Liupanshui, the only one in China that takes climate characteristics as a city nickname, really live up to the title of "China's Cool Capital", the average temperature in summer is only 19.7 °C, and there is no need to turn on air conditioning during the day, which is a good place to escape the heat. The housing prices in the urban area made me feel excited, I went to see several real estate projects, and at that time, I really had the idea of buying a two-bedroom set of 70 or 80 square meters for summer escape.
"The sky is not three days clear", the rain in the six plates of water is more. Clouds are shrouded in mist, and torrential rains often arrive. If you want to overlook the majesty of the world's first highest bridge, the Beipanjiang Bridge, from a high place, you have to see whether God appreciates his face.
In order to send Children's Day gifts to the children of Liupanshui surrounded by peaks, I invited the public welfare organizations in Zhongshan to visit on the day of "May 20" and go deep into Miaozhai together to listen to the voices of left-behind children. Then they raised gifts worth 180,000 yuan, so that Shan Liwa could feel the deep friendship of the citizens of Zhongshan, the city of fraternity.
In early July, I accidentally fell, resulting in a comminuted fracture of my left shoulder humerus. During the treatment of Liupanshui People's Hospital, the relevant local cooperation departments sent people to visit, and the medical staff took good care of me, which made me deeply moved. During the transfer to Zhongshan for treatment and rehabilitation, I repeatedly contacted the century-old Tsui XiangYuan Company and the Guizhou Chuhao Prickly Pear Company in Zhongshan, asked my wife to help send the original prickly pear pulp to the Tsui Xiang Garden, and successfully developed the prickly pear mooncake after two days. I only hope that the two companies in the east and west can launch prickly pear mooncakes before the Mid-Autumn Festival this year to fill the gap in the market and make some contributions to the close cooperation and mutual benefit and win-win results between the two places. At the same time, suzhou merchants were also contacted to investigate Liupanshui, but the trip had not yet been completed due to the epidemic.
Because of a fall, my plan to extend my one-year volunteer teaching period in Liupanshui was interrupted. Nevertheless, I will often pay deep attention to the water and soil in the eastern foothills of Wumeng Mountain, and sincerely hope that the people of Liangdu, who have started the reform process of "three changes" (resources into assets, funds into shares, and farmers into shareholders), will ride on the east wind of east-west cooperation and live better and better.
