The event was jointly sponsored by the County Small Enterprise Development Promotion Center and the County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, hosted by the Wenxi County Medicinal Tea Industry Association, and 8 Wenxi Medicinal Tea Enterprises appeared.
At the tasting meeting, the Wenxi Medicinal Tea Association and the responsible persons of the enterprise respectively introduced the development history, product types and consumer group composition of Wenxi Medicinal Tea, and solicited opinions and suggestions on the development of Wenxi Medicinal Tea. Yan Xiaoyuan, director of the County Small Enterprise Development Promotion Center, introduced that Wenxi's medicinal tea started in the 1980s, starting with persimmon leaf tea and forsythia tea, which is one of the birthplaces of the medicinal tea industry in Shanxi Province. At present, there are 11 medicinal tea processing enterprises in the county, 12 registered trademarks, and 18 types of products such as eucommia tea, chrysanthemum tea, locust rice tea, and skullcap tea. The annual output is more than 200 tons, and the annual output value is more than 50 million yuan. Since 2020, Wenxi County has actively responded to the call of the provincial party committee and the provincial government to focus on medicinal tea, make every effort to build the seventh largest tea system in China, rely on Wenxi's rich and diverse authentic Chinese herbal medicine resources, take the development of the medicinal tea industry as an important starting point for the development of modern characteristic agriculture, play the advantage card of Wenxi Chinese herbal medicine, and strive to make the medicinal tea industry a new support for poverty alleviation and a new carrier for industrial transformation.
The participants expressed their hope to take the tasting meeting as an opportunity to carry out medicinal tea promotion and exhibition activities, increase the marketing of medicinal tea, tell the story of Wenxi medicinal tea, create a Shanxi medicinal tea brand, and polish the Wenxi business card.
