Genting 1 is one of the earliest weather stations in the Genting Stadium Group, surrounded by six sports tracks such as winter Olympic freestyle skiing and snowboarding aerial skills, snow skills, U-shaped tracks, slope obstacle courses, parallel giant slaloms, and obstacle chases, where 20 gold medals will be awarded. Therefore, the meteorological data obtained at this site is of great significance for the overall grasp of the meteorological environment of the track.
In front of the hillside about 30 meters away from the Genting stadium group, the team of five people stopped. It was a snow slope with a slope of nearly 60 degrees, against the fine snowflakes sprayed by the snow machine, Yang Jin tightly pulled the safety rope with one hand, and the equipment in the other hand, along the "snow ladder" dug out by the captain, carefully climbed to the top of the slope. Only 30 meters away, when the personnel and equipment are all in place, an hour has passed.
The aerial skills event is one of the most ornamental events in the Winter Olympic Games, athletes jump from the platform, flip, turn, and finally land smoothly, meteorological factors have a critical impact on the smooth holding of the event and the athletes' technical performance.
Due to the steep terrain and difficult maintenance of the "Genting No. 1" point, in order to ensure that the key meteorological data is not lacking during the race and provide important support for the forecast, the meteorological department decided to add an additional "insurance" to the "Genting No. 1". Yang Jin and his teammates installed the equipment, fixed and tested non-stop, but in half an hour, they completed the installation and commissioning of the backup station.
The 2022 Winter Olympics has established a three-dimensional meteorological observation network of "three-dimensional, second-level and multi-element". Accurate forecasting, detection first, 23 areas installed dozens of automatic weather stations. On December 14, the installation and commissioning of the Zhangjiakou Awards Plaza Automatic Weather Station was successfully completed, which is the last automatic weather station installed in Zhangjiakou, which will witness the awarding of nearly 100 gold medals in the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. On the electronic screen of the weather station, the change curves such as temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed, wind direction and precipitation are displayed in real time, and the observation data is displayed in real time on the external display screen and uploaded to the central station. In order to improve the accuracy of the data, precipitation observation uses the more advanced weighing precipitation sensor, which can realize the measurement of precipitation in different phases such as rain, sleet, and snow.
In order to ensure the continuity, accuracy and reliability of the observation data of the Winter Olympics under low temperature conditions, the 23 institutes have also carried out ultrasonic wind heating transformation of all automatic meteorological stations, and in order to cope with the problem of insufficient solar power supply, the power supply transformation and portable station backup work of important stations have been carried out.
