At the end of the First World War, the rulers of the victorious British and French powers made the most stupid decision to disband the otherwise mighty Austro-Hungarian Empire. Perhaps they had originally tried to prevent austria-Hungary from regaining strength, but they neglected another important country, Germany. The collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire objectively led to the relative expansion of Germany's territorial size and comprehensive strength.
The foolish measures of the victorious powers did not only disintegrate the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but in order to show their determination to yearn for peace, they actually destroyed their hard-earned warships and some military equipment. They opposed France's possession of an army based on universal service, but on the other hand, allowed Japan to continue to grow its naval power. In today's view, such an approach can only be described by the word stupid, put into the historical environment of the time, it may really be that the rulers of the victorious countries saw the cruelty of war, they did not want the tragedy to repeat itself, so they chose a practice that thought they could maintain permanent peace.
Sadly, the world is not the utopia they imagined, and neither Germany nor Japan, whose desire to rise again was not extinguished by the defeat in World War I, and the passion of the Germain nation and the ambitions of the Yamato nation did not disappear because of the actions of the victorious powers. They failed to correctly understand the international situation at that time, and history quickly made them realize their mistakes, and the moment Hitler led his Nazi legion to fire the first shot on the European continent, the rulers of the victorious countries of world war I should think deeply about it.
British Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said that to extort the defeated countries to the maximum extent, it is to directly use force to take away everything that can be taken away.
