On December 25, the exhibition of He Jiping's works "Tribute to Playwrights 2021" was launched at the Juyin Theater in Beijing.
Ms. He Jiping is a famous playwright who shuttles between Beijing and Hong Kong, switching between drama and film and television works. She has created opera and stage drama works such as "The First Floor under heaven", "Deling and Cixi", "Dawn Forbidden City", "Returning Soul Incense", "Smoke and Rain Red Boat", "Koshien Garden", "New Dragon Gate Inn", "Legend of the New White Lady", "Submission of Names", "Dragon Gate Flying Armor", "Evil Does Not Pressure the Right", "When the Moon Rises", "Decisive Moment" and other film and television works, and has won many awards such as China's First Wenhua Award, the First Academy Award of the Central Academy of Drama, the National Outstanding Script Cao Yu Award, the October Literature Award, the Taiwan Golden Horse Award, the Hong Kong Golden Horse Award, the Hong Kong Academy Awards Best Screenplay Nomination Award and many other awards.
The exhibition launched two works by Ms. He Jiping: "Opening the Market" and "Smoke and Rain Red Boat". In her video speech, Ms. He Jiping introduced that these are two works created in Hong Kong and have been warmly welcomed by Hong Kong audiences. "'Kaishi Daji' is a comedy based on Mr. Lao She's short story, which has been praised by Mr. Shu Yi as five 'real'. "Smoke and Rain Red Boat" is a Cantonese red boat depicting the Pearl River water town in the 1930s, which has been performed dozens of times in Hong Kong and has become a grand event of the year. ”
Ms. He Jiping described her feelings as "very honored" by the professional directors and professional actors in Beijing. It is reported that "Tribute to the Playwright 2021" He Jiping's other work "Smoke and Rain Red Boat", directed by young director Huo Xin, will meet the audience at the Juyin Theater in Beijing on January 1 and 2, 2022.
"Tribute to the Playwright" aims to return to the roots of theatrical art and discover more outstanding drama works that have never been officially put on the stage, or even publicly published or read aloud. The artistic achievements of the outstanding playwrights who are still alive will be introduced to the current audience in the form of performances, drama readings, symposiums, salons, exhibitions, etc., so as to broaden the audience's artistic appreciation horizons.
In 2018, the "Tribute to the Playwright" project was launched, showing three works by the famous playwright Mr. Su Shuyang: "Moth", "The Umbrella of Salzburg" and "Moonlight". In 2019, he exhibited three works by playwright Mr. Fei Ming: "Ward", "Mr. Wang's Afternoon Tea" and "Shabu Lamb". In 2020, two works by playwright Ms. Wan Fang were exhibited: "Do You Still Play the Guitar" and "The Policeman".
