Next season will be Bellinger's third arbitration year, as he falls under Super 2 players, so he can have four arbitration years and he will qualify for free agent after the end of the 2023 season. Bellinger received a salary of $11.5 million in one arbitration year, which is mlb's first arbitration year, but because of his average performance in the 2020 season, he only received $16.1 million last year, and in the just concluded season, Bellinger's performance was even worse, only because the arbitration salary had to rise, so he got a salary of $17 million.
