The January transfer window is just around the corner, which means United are destined to be linked to a certain right-back again this month. Since Trippier's move from Tottenham Tottenham to Atletico Madrid, the England defender has had little rumours other than being contacted for a move to Old Trafford to return to the Premier League. The Three Lions international is now 31 years old and it doesn't make sense for United to spend a fortune on signing the defender in January until 2023. However, the constant rumors are always true. Here are three younger, better and even cheaper right-backs available for United to choose from if they insist on upgrading their options at right-back.

Max Ahrens (Norwich)

There is one player who is regularly contacted by Manchester United, who is certainly a better choice than Trippier, and this person is Nonewich right-back Max Allens. The young England defender scored two goals and five assists in the Championship last season, and although he has only one assist in 17 top flight games, his ability in the Premier League is clearly not bad. Ahrens may not be better than the right-back players United currently have, but given his 21-year-old age, he could one day get better.

Jeremy Flimpong (Bayer Leverkusen)

Flynbon spent several successful seasons in the Scottish League after becoming famous with the Celtics, before moving to Bayer Leverkusen in January this year, where he achieved great results in the Bundesliga. So far this season, the Dutch defender has scored two goals and assisted six times in the most dynamic and aggressive side in germany's top flight this season. Flympon has incredible speed and extraordinary technical talent. While he may have been a Manchester City player, there is no doubt that United fans will ignore this if he ignites the flanks at Old Trafford.

Tariq Lamptey (Brighton)

Unlike the two defenders mentioned earlier, Lampte has just recovered from a hamstring injury and hasn't played much this season. However, although the Brighton prodigy has made fewer than 30 appearances in the Premier League, he has shown extraordinary defensive and offensive ability, achieving astonishing success in the top flight. Lampte has scored five assists in 29 Premier League games so far and if he moves to Manchester United, he will certainly add his assists with impressive performances.
